Freezing pdf files

Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart.The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

Thunder and lightning and rain never felt so good as today:) Afternoon all. Now you've made me want even more jewellery - I loved all your photos. Used to buy a lot of necklaces too but I found one I've been using for years now. In spite of their loveliness your photos are all wrong and I can't find a picture on all of the internet to show you. The batteries for my old camera take 15 hours of charging... but I'll do it, I'll do it, I'll do it for the biddies - hang on... oh okay, you don't have to sit and wait.

Neti when Survivor was first introduced in Sweden, the contestant who was the very first one (ever) to be voted off killed himself on arriving back home. People are crazy or what. Do you yourself believe your friend may have done that for not being accepted on BB or is it just one of those rumours...

mine were better when I started GENTLY buffing the vertical ridges not completely out but so they were less noticeable and using Leighton Denny nail cream. I still keep them fairly short though cos the gardening wrecks them.

My nails hardly ever grow, not strong at all and usually split just too low, which is why my net curtain got me! It is still painfull and difficult to type.

How are things jno? Instead of poxylax use Licquorice allsorts, they've sorted me (or is that too much info!)

Swedie, no that wouldn't have been the reason, he was just strange and full of himself anyway. He was still organising big parties for discos. I think he missed his sister Daphne who saved him from his quite mad and bad life and he straightened out for a while. His bro-in-law says it was the train but can't find any news saying that any station was held up! One day I'll know.

Remember my friend who was terribly burned in the bottled gas explosion a couple of months ago, well she is doing marvellously and is being transferred to Ibiza as they think she will improve amongst her friends, she is sitting in a chair and talking and eating and breathing on her own. No idea how disfigured she is yet. Really good progress.

licorice might have been better, neti, I was sort of expecting, uh, explosions, but all I got was a little liquidised. I think I must have been mostly empty already. I even went out and trimmed the hedge, which was rather brave of me, but no ill befell me. Glad your friend's recovering.

I must take that picture along with me tomorrow, Kit, just so's I know what's going on.

Didn't you get an invitation to Camilla Dallyup's wedding then? Looks a bit common to me, haha. Hope your friend recovers well.

Kit the doc at the hospital said a week or so to settle down, but articles I've read say weeks. I might have a word with the optician and/or gp but obviously I don't want to rush into buying any new specs until it's stopped changing.

God I hate Facebook. Isn't simples at all Miss cos they keep changing the rules adding new setting options that sort of partly annul your old settings until you've, erm, set the new settings accordingly and they don't freakin' TELL you that they've added new settings to... set. I'm cracking up I'm sure I saw things on here the other day that hadn't been or had been on before, No wonder nobody mentioned it to me you must have I was too. And I hadn't been drinking either.
Had a lovely lunch today with my friend and we came back here and sat talking til 4 . Then another friend came and brought me back some money he owed me which I didn't expect til next week so I feel quite well off.
How you doing Jno. I know when I took Pixypoxylaxx I couldn't stop for quite some time.
