I frequently get an error message when trying to send a Gmail, specially if it's replying to one:

"Oops... a server error occurred and your email was not sent. (#007)"

Just over the last month or so, and apparently at random. It won't save these emails as drafts, either.

Anyone know what's happening, or what I might do about it? (I have Hotmail and other email accounts but would prefer to use Gmail.)

There are various suggestions here, including: (a) simply log out of Gmail and log back in again ; (b) clear the cache and cookies from your browser ; and (c) if you're using Internet Explorer, use a different browser https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/gmail/2RPrrWUUYzg Perhaps trying each of them might lead you to a solution?

Hello Elves
That's a lovely surprise for you Neti. Some cards I posted locally on Monday, 1st class arrived today. Four days to go half a mile.

Some good news for a change. My brother had the vaccine today and has to go back in Jan for the second dose and my other brother and SiL get theirs on Monday. So it's coming down the pipeline.
I've also become a great, great aunt for the umpteenth time. My great nephew and his wife had a baby boy yesterday,my brother's tenth great grandchild.
Hope you're all well.
How are the expectant juniors doing Jno ?

I suppose there's a reason people put their glasses on before trying to cook things. I couldn't find mine so OH handed me the ingredients to put on top of the pizza. I was surprised how easily the oil went on so I enquired further and found I'd been handled the vinegar bottle instead. We did our best to blot it up but it still had a faint tang of fish and chips. Luckily the pineapple was unharmed.

I imagine even the great chefs of Europe like to experiment sometimes.

shaney, we got a photo today of mum in the lift at their block of flats. She should still fit in it, just about, when she goes to hospital, though I hope it doesn't all prove too much for whatever is wrong with the construction.

Imagine being born on the shortest day, though, the poor wee mite won't see the Great British Sun for six months.
Question Author
oh well, confined to barracks for another week or two, won't even get to see sis in Essex (who I think is still in tier 2, they will be buiding walls to keep tier 4 escapees out)
Question Author
looks like Christmas in Norwich won't be all that, either

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-55376683
my sis (not the visiting one, my middle sis) is in Kent. her daughter and fam are also in Kent so hopefully she is bubbled with them....her son has a partner but I think they will both be working for part of Christmas. She is a tough old bird but I hope she isn't alone.
Question Author
sis says all her in-laws are also in Tier 4. She's near Stansted and the area is almost completely surrounded by tier 3 (now 4) but for some reason they're only 2. So even in the land of the nearly free, nobody can visit them.
That looks terribly tacky Jno.I hope people get their money back.
Not long to wait now.I expect you're excited.
We had vinegar for dinner last night on fish and chips which we had delivered and oooooh were they nice or what.
Today's dinner was toad in the hole.I fry the toads on the hob a bit then pour the batter in and put it the oven.Got pan out of oven with an oven glove then proceeded to cut the toad by holding onto the pan handle without a glove. I've spent the evening on the settee with my hand in a jug of iced water having burned myself. It doesn't look as if it'll blister, hopefully.
More Christmas misery I see. It was a foregone conclusion though.
We're still in tier 2 and we're not having any visitors.Picky and his partner are out in the workplace, and we can only meet them outside anyway. My brother is bubbling with his son who's retired and whose partner works from home so he'll have some company on Christmas day. It's a total shambles.
I'll just have to see how much dosh I can make playing cards with Mr.S :)
Night Night all .Sleep tight.
Oh Shaney! I hope your hand is less sore today. I don't know if you are fans but it was LOVELY to see Bill Bailey win Strictly. Sis is on her way, she will arrive in about an hour, got one more lot of gifts to deliver in a socially distanced way to my friend down the road who is Mum to my inherited godson and then christmas can begin. Much telly watching and too much chocolate.
Question Author
ooh poor shaney. My mum always said holding burnt bits under running water was best but I don't know if that's right.

Won't be seeing sis for dinner on the 25th but I've told her to keep the sprouts on for another year. No idea when we'll see grandbaby but I expect we'll cope.
It's very sore but no blisters. I think the cold water did the trick and I've put Savlon on. I'm a clumsy oaf.I seem to burn and cut myself on a regular basis these days.
Picky gave us some Victorinox knives recently.Just a couple of small serrated knives. He rang up and asked if we liked them and said they are razor sharp. I thanked him and asked if he could send some plasters as I'd already realised they were razor sharp :)
Yes Woofy ,great for Bill Bailey I don't watch Strictly but he comes across as a nice man. I loved him as Manny in Black Books.
Hopefully you'll get lots of pics and videos Jno ,but it's not the same as seeing family and new babies in person.
Question Author
we are metaphorically masked and gowned waiting by the phone for the hospital to call. OH has to go to a different hospital for chemo this afternoon. A very medical Christmas here.
Question Author
baby is born and has apparently been crying ever since. Mum is being monitored - low placenta, I think.
congratulations Jno. I hope all goes/went ok
Congratulations Jno and the Juniors. Hope all goes well and that they can soon take the new baby home for Christmas.
Question Author
thank you, they're still in the recovery room and she's being treated for high BP. jno jnr has returned home for his last peaceful night.
Jno how is everything today? How is OH?
Shaney I never said congratulations on your new family members....so sorry, I was ignoring your good news.
Question Author
they're out of recovery but will be staying in till tomorrow for monitoring. OH has been in touch with a midwife friend and conveyed her thoughts to the happy parents: Baby Ophelia is crying because it was a forceps delivery and her head hurts, and is being fed formula to ward off jaundice but this won't stop her taking the breast - both issues which had been concerning them.

These are tough times when new parents can't meet friends or family for reassurance.
sounding good jno and yes its good to get reassurance at such a worrying time. Ophelia....what a lovely choice.
