Windows 10 - Is It For Me ??

I keep getting emails urging me to update from Win 8 to Win 10. My PC is used mainly for general internet activity, as well as storage of photo's and videos. I'm quite happy to continue using 8, but my question is ......... is it beneficial for a user like me to upgrade, and would I have to learn a lot of new stuff.

Microsoft is supporting W7 until 2020 so it really is up to you.

what are the advantages to windows 10 - I admit I loved XP and hate 8.1 -however am a bit chary to take the free upgrade as it takes me ages to adapt as am not too computer literate.

Thank you fender62 - wish I hadn't 'upgraded' from XP but was rather bullied into it by the scarey 'XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft' blarney -I should have reasearch what that actually meant - my fault.

W10 boots up much faster, is faster all round and just works.

Maybe I'll give it a try - I believe I can uninstall it within a month if I get confused.

@rsvp......You regretted upgrading from XP to Windows 8.1 and could feel the same if you install Windows 10 at this stage.

Ask yourself the question....'Why are so many techies still holding back when it comes to installing Windows 10 ?'

There's no rush...you've got a further 6moths to consider matters.

been on 10 for 2 weeks now love it much better than 8.1 no probs well happy with it lots of new stuff didnt take me long to get use to it tho

Love w10 the, edge browser is excellent, defender security system is fine. W 8:1 was a bind. I have run with 7,xp, 8, 8:1 and used firefox, ie, google etc etc. 10 is a beaut. You will have a bit of learning to do but so what. When you install just make sure to do the upgrades every time.
