Anyone Else Wish Ab Returned To How It Was Before?

friend of mine, who's a long-term user of AB, says he prefers it how it was. His biggest problem now is it no longer works on his iPad. Is he alone in that or is he missing something?

I prefer how it was, but I thought we had to accept the new format because so many people were using iPads and smart phones nowadays, that it required a new set up.
I use a laptop, and it seems to me that this new format is continually 'shouting' at me.
I don't want to knock progress but I was asked the question, 'Anyone Else Wish Ab Returned To How It Was Before? So, I've given my answer truthfully.

I also prefer the original. I find that the text doesn't fit in the boxes so it looks strange on my notebook. Also have had trouble posting a question though I can comment on others ok.

losgigs - you need to clear your cache. That will solve the text overflowing the boxes

But the way it was before I could tell at a glance what were the main threads and who was posting where.
I look in the latest posts now and the first thing I am drawn to are Avatars and names not the topic of the thread.
When opening a thread it is not instantly obvious who the OP'er is they are lost in the Facebook Twitter Google e-mail logo's.

It works as well for me as the old site did. Aesthetically it's horrible and amateurish looking. If I was a new user I can't tell what I'd think. I do realise it's not the thing to say ie to be negative to the Ed, I see the same people sticking up for it all the time. Especially Mods.

How much can you see without scrolling, Talbot? On this thread I can just see the grey line under 'Anyone else' etc ..nowhere near as much as on the old AB

I can see from the top of the page to the bottom of the answer box without scrolling

No, most of my answerbanking is on mobile and the old site was a heap of ***.

The new site is also better on the desktop with more space and more legible font.

Function wise, the site is 95% the same as before, so I do not understand why people don't like it.
