firewire onto laptop

My laptop does not have anything on it to put a firewire, could anyone tell me if it is possible to add firewire to my laptop. There are no spaces on the laptop to install this, i have a IEEE1394 lead but nowhere to put it.

Thanks for that Ethel, but i dont have a 34mm Express Card slot either, i am beginning to think this laptop is no good for what i want.

I suggest you take your laptop to your nearest pc store and see if they can suggest anything.

What make/model laptop and how old is it?

The only other alternative is that i have pc, can i connect the pc to my laptop and if so how do i do this.

Oh by the way the laptop is only one year old and was built by a company called QTech
A one year old laptop should have the relevant slot for the second example.
It'll have a cardbus slot on the side. Ethel's pricegrabber suggestion would do fine, or this one:
