Are you a city or country person? Do you like where you live?

Could you do the opposite and move from the country to the city or vice versa?

If you could chose anywhere to live where would you chose, both in your own country and abroad?

A country person stuck in the town. If I could move, I'd go tomorrow, ideally to Norfolk, away from the noise and bustle, nowhere near any schools, just a local grocer selling Budweiser would do me fine.

BUT, it is nice earning money.... and I have now with the help of a folding bike found how to reach absolutely magnificent and deserted sweeping countryside within 35 minutes, so it's not all that bad.
Where I live is ok, a new city which apparently is going to improve. If I stayed living in this country I would prefer to live somewhere like Manchester City Centre. If I was to move abroad I would like to live in Cyprus, already have family there and have made a few friends, both Cypriot and English.
Wouldn't like to live in the countryside, be to quiet and I can't drive so would feel to isolated
Awww Tickle, I come from Cyprus. Where would you live out there?

I live in the same town as Whiffey. I would love to live in the country and some parts of Kent are very nice. I've been to Cornwall and Devon and I could quite happily move to either if I could afford it.
I have the best of both worlds -I live in rural Perthshire (the town is a bit crud tho) and have a house in a delighful rural village in Spain -so i'm happy with my lot.

However my daughter has just bought a flat in the centre of Perth and becuase Perth is so beautiful it has made me think I could live there -you have the bustle and convenience of city life but a 2 minute walk away you have a beautiful huge park bordering the River Tay.

Imagine TB and whiff living in the same town -ever met?
O and TB -Cyprus is wonderful -been there a few times -actually considered it for outr secong home -just that the flight was going to be too long for a weekend break and things x
i come from scotlan dfrom a new town very much like a milton keyenes but having stayed there fro about 35 years i guess thats what im used to in scotland

I now live on an island at a port which is also a tourist resort with views of the sea and across to la gomera and las palmas, and of course mount teide .
pretty idyllic but near enough to everything too.i willl live here as long as i stay in tenerife for sure.
i come from a big busy city, that time i thought i would never get used to live in small cities or country side. since 2003 i moved to ireland and realise how beautiful and peaceful the life is in small cities and now im living in north england and enjoyed the laid back sity style, feel very difficult to live back in big city now.
Hey mirela my husband is working nr where you live -he covers most of Yorkshie tho -has had to move to Bishop Auckland from Dalton but will shortly be moving to Sheffield -nature of his work.He also worked in Ireland for years -North and South -where were you in Ireland?

Leg -know what you mean -new towns but its what youre used to - just have no feeling about them -do they?

Whay ya mean that you will live there for as long as youre in the reef -fancy moving on?

O BTW -got a text from Knobby last night -the sharks survived him lol !!!
Lol Dris, I've never met Whiffey. Small world though isn't it.

My parents are off to Cyprus on Wednesday for a holiday. Sadly my cousin died there a few days ago. He was 49 and had a heart attack, so its not going to be much of a holiday for them.
I went from a town to a village to a city and back to a town again. I have enjoyed living in all of them but they have all been at different stages in my life, and have suited my lifestyle for that time period.

I currently live in a town and suits my lifestyle well. Im not right in the town centre, but only a short walk away so have the convenience of being able to walk everywhere. Im also only a short walk from the beach which can offer a nice little escape sometimes, plus my daughter loves it so it provides close and free entertainment for her. The downside is I cant look out of any of my windows without seeing another house so the noise from the neighbours' houses as well as kids playing out on the street can be very annoying at times.

Ideally, I think I would love to live in a little quiet village, but I would miss the convenience of living so close to different things like I get living in a town.
tiggerblue, Im so sorry for the loss to you and your family.
Aww TB -thats so sad -he's the same age as me as well -brings it home to you doesnt it -none of us are invicable -I am very sorry for your loss xxxx
Thank you Psychick and Dris. It was a shock for all of us. It is very sad when you lose someone at that age. My great-aunt is beside herself. You don't expect to outlive your own children.
hi dris, i was living in dublin for 2 years. yeah, sheffiled is not far from leeds at all. give a shout if you r visiting this area :)
No probs hun -gonna have a Thelma and Louise road trip with my pal this summer and we are taking in Yorkshire so we will give ya a call -will FB ya with the details.(Gonna give H a swerve- see too much of him as it is lol-this is for fun!!!!)
haha same here, glad bf going to scotland for a change, give us a break....lol
Aww TB -your post wasnt here when i answered mirela for some reason -you are right -you dont expect to outlive your children -every parents dread.I cant empathise with her but I have every sympathy with her -poor soul.It beggars belief -thats what happened with Daves dad -he simply gave up the will to live and stopped eating and died 7 months after Dave was killed -so sad for the family.

Mirela -I was in Dublin last year to see Aerosmith at Marley Park -they were sh!te (major disappintment) but Dublin was acey macey !!!
Is he in Glasgow Mirela?
Dont worry hun -I could be his mum but if he was close enough to me it would be ace to meet him just for the craic!!
