oooh, hello you lovely people, my golly, no wonder you're feeling under the weather, it's perishing here. We only left the heating on just enough to stop pipes freezing and my temperature's been in free fall since I struggled in out of the snow. I'm sitting here with an electric blanket wrapped around me at the moment (not one off the bed, a proper portable one). It really was hot out in the desert, although when we were in tents there was quite a strong wind blowing a lot of the time, kicking up very fine sand, more like dust really, and it got everywhere. At night the tent was creaking and groaning like an old clipper ship heaving in the wind. I managed to ruin a pair of trainers, the sole almost completely off one and half off the other, and thought I'd have to dump them and come home in flipflops, but no, the guide took me to the cobblers' souk in Omdurman and one of them glued the shoes all back together for five Sudanese pounds, which is about £1.50, and they're good as new.
I've got exactly 1000 photos (which I will now start deleting till just the good ones are left) so will talk soon. I hope everyone is KBOing like crazy, this icy weather is just so exhausting.
