It'snot all hard slog, and I know I do not look brown but I am!!

rellies are okay, seems most of them were out of Christchurch at the time. They can't flee the country because of volcanic ash, though (from Chilean volcanoes).

Looking like a gorgeous day here - I wonder what I can do to spoil it? Work maybe?
Hi Biddies,

I went to the docs at 9.00 but my appointment isn't until 4.50 pm!! I got in wrong, so now I have to worry all day. The blood was only taken last Wednesday so the results will only just be through which is why I am worrying, because the doc. knows I have an appointment today and if there is anything serious she will prob. wait for this pm. See I am a serial worrier. Thanks for the kind wishes from you all.
I actually feel a bit better today. Buscopan seems to have worked on the pain.

Beautiful day here as well.

Glad your rellies are OK jno.

You look very nice indeed Jude - lovely outfit.

I am in the process of cleaning our bedroom and changing the quilt for the summer one. The winter one is going on the tip this afternoon. It is cheaper to buy a new king size quilt than have one cleaned or laundered. I must admit, I haven't had this one cleaned since it was new - how shameful.

Washing now about to go out.

Trying to take my mind of this afternoon.

Hi All. I'm back after a good morning at Tai chi then went to the Bull in Breaston for lunch. I've never had Polenta in my life before so had Chilli veg and polenta bake with salad and garlic bread and it was lovely. Oh yes and 2 lattes. I know latte is taboo after 11.oo in the morning but I don't G A D! (as Clark Gable said in G W T W)

Yes Robi that is my cheapo reduced jacket from that seconds shop - Per Una - for £20. It's supposed to have a fault but I couldn't find it. Thanks all for your kind words. I have to admit I did feel ok as I haven't worn a dress since my friend's 70th 2 years ago.
I am pleased your rellies are ok Jno. Don't let anything spoil your day now.

I had a 'moment' today on my way into Sainsburys. This man was walking towards me and he was grey haired and handsome and he smiled at me so I just smiled back and said hello and he looked me straight in the eyes and said hello back. After that I went happily on my way into the shop. ;~) My life's made up of 'moments' and I don't mean necessarily with the opposite sex. I just remember them. I hope you all do the same.
Good luck with your blood test result Lottie. My turn either later today or tomorrow morning.

Odd now to see if I can find some highlights of that tennis final again on line.
See yer later 'gater(s)
Ain't love grand ;o)
W O O F Y !!

Where did you go to school because I am almost 100% certain that that was my old school uniform. Dress identical right down to the small cap sleeves (blue with emblem print and straw boater. I lived and went to school in Wimbledon - well the school was called Wimbledon County, but was actually in Merton.
Sorry, that related to a question Woof posted!!
Different schools. Both posh Girls Schools and quite near each other really! I wore that uniform in the early 60's. I don't know how long they kept in going. The dress was designed by the 6th formers.
Lottie I went to Greycoat Hospital in Westminster. Did you mould your hats when they got wet? I turned the brim up all the way round on mine like Gigi.
In winter we had a grey velour till the sixth form then a royal blue pill box.
actually the previous summer hat was nicer. It was a real panama, one you could roll up but were weren't supposed to! Anyway they got too expensive so were changed for mini boaters.
I can't remember doing anything to the boater. At 15 I changed schools when my father moved to Bedford and went to Dame Alice Harpur which was just like St Trinians. It was then that I changed from a well behaved 14 year old to a rebel 15 year old. The rules were so strict at Dame Alice that it just made us into naughty girls and we disobeyed all the rules. I loved my Wimbledon school and hated Dame Alice (but being a rebel was good). I refused point blank to stay in the sixth form and went to college and did a Business Studies course for two years instead.

Anyway, I am back from doctors. All the bloods with respect to blood pressure are fine and blood counts are fine. RA factor is up again (which I suspected) so a hospital appointment is being made with rheumatologist again. Low level inflammation is showing up, probably IBS or RA.

My blood pressure wasn't too bad but I want it lower so dose of tablets increased.

Apart from that I'm fine!!! Really though, nothing has worried me about the results so I was being a really silly billy about going.

(Back for more blood tests in two weeks to check kidney function because my tablet dose has increased).

Have a nice evening biddies all.

(I am sitting here with a glass of ice cold beer - luverly!!
Oh we passed like ships in the night Woof!!

The Dame Alice Hat was a panama, which I soaked in t he bath with the elastic over the top and made into a stetsun which hung on the back of my backcombed hair!!!
<thwacks Lottie for worrying>
Stupid day today. Today is a dialysis day, DH is over the tum upset but still with the post tum wearies and me too. Shughy had dream fireworks last night and I was up late with him giving calming tabs and waiting till they worked. Anyway I was walking the dogs at stupid o'clock and having my early morning chat with Im Upstairs. "today is going to be a difficult day" I said. "I'll need a bit of help today." At which point my back went. i really think he has a dodgy sense of humour some times.
Wanders in........"helloooooooooooooooo" listens to echoing emptiness.....wanders out
Night night all
Morning all...clunk, click, every trip!...yes, that's my joints :o) Feel a bit 'doomy & gloomy' this morning too, odd dreams last night probably haven't helped.

Yes, let's all thwack Lottie, told you it would be ok. :o)

Is it against the law to have two nice days on the trot? Yesterday - glorious. Today - not so, cloudy & possible showers later....tut. Next door neighbour's had some gravel delivered, I might hide behind her hedge & throw handfuls at passers by :o)

oh, btw neti, you can stop packing, no euromillions for me...or anyone else.
Good Morning all. Went to see Adrian but he's off sick, how dare my Dr be off sick :~)Anyway the nurse rang me and told me my blood's fine. Phew!! I'm pleased yours was ok too Lottie.
You're right Robi - different day today. Cut my grass at the back last night so that's ok. My plants are coming on so I'll take a picture in a little while hoping my son remembers to come and water them while I'm away. My GH neighbour has bought a lawn mower so her son tells me. I have more conversation with him than her. He's quite a polite young man. I'm trying to get him to stop smoking with not too much success.

Hope you all feel not so bad to day and you have a good one. I too get gloomy days Robi, and I tend to put on my music or B*****r off out for a hike. I'm off out in a bit and I think it will be a brolly day. I 'm going to get some sugar snaps - I love em.
Hi to Shaney, Woofy, Neti, Jno and Dolly.
See yer later 'gater(s)
Good morning! I am now covered in bruises from all your Twacks!! Seriously, you are a brilliant lot of friends, thanks.

A nice day but not like yesterday. It's not such bright sunshine. If we get some rain, which doesn't look likely at the moment, it will be a bonus. The deluge on Sunday was wonderful, but now it looks all dried up again. Sigh.

Not going anywhere today. Going to take the day as it comes and do jobs in the order I feel like doing them (which probably means I will do very little!!).

What are 'Sugar Snaps' Jude?

xx
Hi Lottie they're a green vegetable. Peas in pods and I just eat them with salad. (Whispers very quietly - they keep me regular!!)
