I have just bought a new pack of Tevion DVD-RW which when inserted into the VCR a window states that it is not recognised. Should I return them or is there some way to make them work? I have a Panasonic NV-VHVI
Your problem is you're putting them in a VCR.... (a Video Cassette Recorder) I'm sure they would work better in a DVD recorder :)
Seriously (assuming that was just an error) I can't find a reference to that model number, can you check it again and I'll try and find the specs to get the supported disk types.
FAO ChuckFickens, Hi chuck, sorry I haven`t answered sooner, but I had to watch `Heartbeat` at 8 and then `War` on ch 5 @ 9, and yes I have made an error with the model No which should be NV-VHD 1 B, but that is the model No on the front of the machine, but which differs from the Instruction manual. Crazy, eh?
Albags, Yes, I have been using DVD-RW for about four years on this machine.
the manual for that device firstly says it's a DVD player only, not a recorder, is that correct? if it is I assume you are using something else to create the disks?
Also the manual doesn't say it supports playback of DVD-RWs at all, though this doesn't always mean something won't play them just because its not mentioned in the manual.
If you have previously been using DVD-RW disks and they have been working then it's probably best you stick to the brands you have already tried and know to work, you can try and return the disks you have but there is no obligation for the store to take them back as they are not faulty, just not supported by your player (alternately use them for computer backups)
Hi again Chuck, you`re right again, as usual, I do only ever record with tapes,, and not DVD`s. What a chuffin twit!! It`s my age you know, silly old sod that I am. Thanks for putting me right again...........bl00dy geniuses. (No offence)
