Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

PS I have seen seasnakes in the Sargasso sea....impressive but I am glad I was on the ship and not on the water!
Not really Woofy .Still very painful.I've got the miseries with it all. It's getting me down big time.
I hope your tortie will be alright .Snakes ..oooh no .I remember years ago in Sutton in the shopping centre they had the really wild show on and they asked people to put their hands up if they were frightened of snakes .
The presenter ( I forget his name) honed in on me and I had to go on the platform and he put a snake round my neck ! Funnily enough it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be .My lot were falling about laughing at me.
land snakes are pleasant to touch....water snakes are generally very poisonous
Morning all...if I was a tortoise I'd be crawling back in my box, it's cold, grey and miserable and I'm so tired. Nothing pressing today so I'll have a tea, biscuits and a dvd afternoon I think. I've discovered you can buy those cinnamony Biscoff biscuits they give you in cafes with your tea/coffee in sainsburys.

Keep your chin up shaney, it will get better. I quite like snakes but I wouldn't go near those huge beetles or centipedes. Ugh.
I was watching a crow earlier who was busy burying bread in the lawn and covering it with moss. They make me laugh. I ordered a load of wild bird seed from my local pet shop yesterday and they delivered it free, it worked out cheaper than the internet. Even in a shopping trolley it's heavy to drag around and I can only bring small quantities.

When Hija was 3 we went to a circus and were in front row. They were choosing volunteers to ride a crazy horse, of course MrN was chosen. He's a very private person and really really didn't want to do it but to refuse meant more of a fuss, but luckily before his turn came they ran out of time. He was so glad.
Tut, what a day, it stayed the same, cold and dark, the traffic's been sloshing by in the rain. Stew and dumplings for dinner with the light on. It might even snow overnight...may as well put the xmas tree up. Ding dong merrily....
ooof tipped it down here and garden flooding again. Vet happy with tortoise progress, she now has two kinds of eyedrops and back again in 2 weeks.

Just back from the ballet, it was absolutely enchanting. Having a coffee then bed.
Same here, miserable wintry day with non stop rain.Roads in town flooded a foot or so deep because the drains couldn't cope with it.Luckily not much damage and the fire brigade pumped it all away.
Nothing for it but to go to bed .I've got the latest No 1.Ladies Detective Agency book to keep me amused.
Good news on the tortie front then Woofy.
Night all.

Morning all...very cold, a rf of minus 1 or 2C. :(

getting light at 5am, I see, having had another short night's sleep. Chilly, too, so I have my feet in the warming pad. It's going to be 7 degrees today and 1 tonight and it will start raining in 23 minutes.
ooo is there a new one Shaney? I must go to amazon, I love Precious. Torts woke early today so dogs woke early so here I am. Heidi managed to feed herself this morning which is great news. Grey and chilly start here but looks like its brightening.

Yes, I've been waking early and noticed it's light...and the crows are squawking.
