Sqad was doing the rounds once. He wanted to write some notes, so reached in his top pocket. He looked down at the object in his hand and said "oh, a suppository. Some bum's got my pen".
LOL ^^
Well done, I'm sure you must feel great :-)
While we are on the subject, switching from wheat cereal to a daily bowl of porridge has done wonders for me.
Top tip for using suppositories, read the label.
I used them for the first time in my life a few weeks ago and was so keen to get results I ripped open the wee packet and went for it.
Insertion eventually but it was like something out of a hellish Generation Game.
On reading the instructions for the second I noted the bit about moistening with water, disappeared like it was going up the hoover hose.

Good luck to you, it's a miserable affliction.
You should try a black bomber, medicine cup of prune juice with any lactose medicine like duphalac - it works maybe after two doses, medication I use means I have to use movicol in sachets so i don't think that's otc but I do remember when in hospital the nurses giving me the black bomber - looking at the replies earlier, I wondered for Islay, I never heard of milk for constipation but you are correct - I didn't doubt but just never heard of it then I wondered do you have problems with dairy products on general, lactose intolerant (I know I'm coming away from the original question, sorry kloofnek)
I don't like suppositories, they tasted awful.
And for all the good they were I may as well been shoving them up my a...

available on prescription as well as over the counter..

for me ..strong black coffee or cider does it !!
Ducksie I can’t tolerate dairy products other than cheese so if I ever get bunged up I just take few sips of milk and wait for it to work lol
I remember buying gripe water too but it was always "Nurse Harveys".
You need a stool softener and a 'pusher' so Lactulose, Laxido sachets and Dioctyl tablets work well and can be adjusted up and down until the right balance is found :) Hope you 'go' soon.

I did wonder Islay, thanks - poor you :(
You have to go a long way back to remember Beecham's pills.

"Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,
Beecham's pills are just the thing
Peace on Earth and mercy mild,
2 for adults and one for a child."
