" I agree entirely, but please remember that this is a two-way mechanism and that the perpetrator may not have answered in a way that can be described as rude.....e,g the OP of this thread....

Hello! Just to confirm, yes we do remove answers such as "just Google it" (whether it's said rudely or politely) because it's not very helpful to the person who asked, who might not feel confident googling things, or who might have already tried that and not found their answer - or who just wants a response from a human. We want AB to be as helpful and welcoming as possible, and telling them to go elsewhere doesn't really do that - this is The AnswerBank, after all!
