It is that time of the year again, when the greatest National Hunt meeting takes place in the UK. It seems like 5 minutes since last year and looks like being another cracker. If any of you are attending, good luck and I hope you enjoy it. I will have to be content with watching on the tv and having a little flutter from home. I have a brother who will be there on Thursday and Friday. Jammy devil. I have made my choices for today and am off out early so as to get back for the off.
*Summerville Boy 1.30 @7/1
Saint Calvados 2.10
*Yala Enki 2.50 @12/1
*Faugheen 3.30 @11/2
*La Bague Au Roi 4.10 @6/1
Rathvinden 4.50
£1.00 Jackpot and Placepot using the six listed.
**** = £1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 20p E/W Trebles. 6 X 20p E/W Doubles.
Depending on the results of the first two races I can cover the last 4 picks if I feel it is prudent. Good luck if you have a flutter. I will use this thread for the week, to either bemoan my luck or to celebrate, and will post my choices for each day.

The last day to roll the dice for another year. Despite knocking on the door all week and slotting winners and second places I have not really managed to get my combinations spot on. I find myself only about £35 up when it could have been much more. The jackpot has rolled over since Wednesday, and the Placepots have shown to be very poor compared with the minor meetings so I will be swerving that and doing the enhanced place E/W Acca instead. Keep my powder dry and see where my first couple of choices come before looking at cover bets.

Morning Togo and, naturally, good luck with your bets. Having drawn a blank the last 2 days (i did say the going would put paid to some of the stronger trends - though i am still using them as guidance, today) i am still in pocket thanks to bets elsewhere - all weather and footy. And, if you recall, i did halve my stakes because of the going, so i have enough in reserve to have a good blow out on the final day of what has been yet another superb festival - particularly if you're Irish (which i'm not) and, even more particularly, if your name's Mullins or Elliott (which it isn't). So;
By placing a £2.50 e.w. bet on Dolos @ 16/1 in the last, i qualified for a £5 free bet for the big race. I've doubled that and placed it on Henderson's Might Bite @ 4/1 - just hope it doesn't start taking in the scenery up the hill!
Once again i believe the first race may be a dogfight between the two market leaders and i have done a straight forecast, Apples Shakira to beat Redicean.
2.10; Spirit Of The Games @ 14/1 (E.W. Smaoneamh Alainn @ 16/1)
2.50; Chef Des Obeaux @ 11/2 (Rev f/c with Chris's Dream)
4.10; Wonderful Charm @ 7/1 (Rev f/c with Burning Ambition)
4.50; Sire Du Berlais @ 9/1 (E.W. Brillare Momento @ 33/1 5 places)
Win singles, 20p lucky 15, 50p e.w. acca. 4 placed = just under £50, 4 winners = £6,323
Also; 3.30; E.W. Definitely Red @ 11/1 4 places
5.30; E.W. Doitforthevillage @ 33/1
Jackpot/Placepot; 8-19-4-9-23-2
Then roll on the Aintree meeting :-) :-) :-)

Shot Panky.....Touched you off again Ken. Sorry bud, but that was my get out of jail punt. This morning my brothers and I exchanged selections, and 4 of us went for Native River without knowing the selections that we made individually. I knew then that I had better get on with a good single. Especially after the previous let down.
