When talking about the death penalty I do wish people wouldn't use phrases like 'state sanctioned murder' as it's stupid, oxymoronic, and is used simply to stir emotions.
I'm against the death penalty simply because of the concern of somebody being wrongfully convicted, but my feelings do waver when you have rogue human beings like the Huntley, Pain and Nilson's of the world - these people are (were in the case of Nilson) utterly evil and beyond any rehabilitation, so it does beg the question of what's the point in their continuing existence.
