If asked for your opinion on our origins, the universe from nothing, life from lifeless materials, what do you say if you have no faith in God?

As my posts are causing so much annoyance, and I don't want to add to anybody's misery, I shall leave it at that and you have the last word.
So what's new? Loudly announced hair shirt time .... again.
If a process can create an invisible, all-powerful God, it can surely easily create a visible, physical universe without a God?

No Naomi. Not hair shirt time.
Just trying to keep the peace.
How noble - but an answer to my question would be good. Why not just quietly believe what you want to believe?

Eh?
Theland... //Think of anything in this universe, everything has a cause.//

You keep saying this, which may or may not be true. But you don't believe it yourself. What was the "cause" of God?
If you are going to try to rationalise our answers, you need to go the same yourself.
Please don't answer with YouTube links... I have tried them, but they make no sense. If you understand and believe them, you could just say in your own words.
And "God simply is" is no more of an answer than "the universe simply is".
Naomi has just said what I have been saying to you for ages Theland, believe - hold that belief close and take comfort from it.

What you are attempting is the impossible, to explain something that is so deep within you (and many others) but that is in truth , inexplicable.
Theland, I answer, as does everyone else, because that is how the site works.
You are managing to exhaust the considerable patience of regular contributors with your Groundhog Day posts - eventually they will simply give up offering their views to be dismissed, and their questions to be ignored.

Take my advice, be happy with your beliefs, stop fretting over questions without answers, and try and switch off the endless angst your faith has burdened you with, and enjoy life a bit.
I think your posts mainly cause questions to be asked in response. Which is to be expected.
Agree with andy-hughes.
Theland in spite of stating he enjoys debating, rarely does. Very often when asked a question he increasingly replies with another question or more annoyingly, accuses the questioner of being awkward or too stupid to understand.
I get the impression Theland is not quite sure of his beliefs and constantly asks questions, not to discuss or learn, but to bolster those beliefs.
I will not reply to any of his future posts but will leave him with these lines from a 1970s song which is how I see his life.
" And the soul, afraid of dying, that never learns to live".
Vulcan, //I get the impression Theland is not quite sure of his beliefs and constantly asks questions, not to discuss or learn, but to bolster those beliefs. //

I've been saying the same for a long time.
