Had a phone call today. Someone saying there is an unpaid debt from Ambrose Wilson that needs paying today, press 1 to pay now etc.
Not heard of this company for years. Have no outstanding catalogue bills.
Anyone had anything like this. It was a computerised call too.

Sounds scam like, they'd write if you owed anything.
The old Ambrose Wilson scam eh. Ignore, bar number.
If it's an automated call then it's a scam. As someone else on here would say, "End of!"

Has it occurred before then?
Who's Ambrose Wilson?

It's an old catalogue company.
A mail order company Corby. They used to concentrate on Women’s clothes.
The company is part of J D Williams, which is one of the oldest mail order forms.

The call is most likely to be a scam. If they really do think that you owe them money, they'll write to you with details.
If you've had no dealings with them, do you not think it likely it's a scam?

I wasn't sure if they were a holding company for catalogues of different names. I do buy occasionally from catalogues. But nowhere is the name Ambrose Wilson prominent.
The N Brown Group have many names under their banner.

As said above, most will write if you owe anything.
