What a sad story this is. My grandson is 14 yrs old and football mad, he plays in goal. I can't imagine what this boys family and friends are going through right now. Rest in peace young man.
Andy, my Mum was a great believer in God, and if I ever asked her why someone had died, especially young people, she would always say, God moves in mysterious ways.
People who believe in God are comforted by their beliefs.
There are so many trophy dogs around these days and I seriously think looking at photos and reading about this breed than this might be the reason for wanting one. I hope it isn't.
It is tragic. I'm sure most of us could look at his photo and think of someone known to us who this could have been. Give them an extra hug if you can ...
I've not read any other posts. It is, indeed, horribly sad. What I am a bit baffled about is why it happened. I was (still am actually) an accredited, certificated athletics coach and the single atmospheric event in which we closed tracks and refused to coach and brought everyone indoors, or sent them home was a thunderstorm.
I would have thought that this was general policy amongst all sporting delineations. It seems not. Poor child - and poor parents.

Obviously I have no info, so i am guessing that maybe the storm came in quickly, and the coach(es) simply didn;t think it was serious enough to merit abandoning the session.
