the advice is NOT victim blaming garbage. The advice is 'check if unsure' and that is not garbage andie it is good advice. The garbage bit is who said it and the cirucmstances ( it was a p'liceman ) and the idea it was the complete answer
But what are we getting? A 'special' number for women to call when they feel unsafe.
Wonderful.
Let's make it a woman's responsibility to keep safe.
That way, we can keep not addressing the root cause of threats to women - the continued acceptance of misogyny as simply being the way it is, not that we should look at educating a generation of boys to grow into men with proper respect.
