Unwanted Tree Stumps.

In a friends garden we had two trees cut down with just the stumps left, about 9ins high and 18ins diameter.. Without the expense of using an expert how can i get rid of the above ground stumps? Any suggestions please.

Well Pat,
I suppose, plant pots could be stood on top (ferns might look nice), or maybe a bird table, if there are no cats around.

We've used all ours and there are lots of them either tonight climbers up or stand pots on and it works. A lifesize woodpecker is climbing up and owls and sparrowhawks etc look out from the tops of others.
