broadband query

have just signed up to aol broadband as it was �14.99 a month, but on reading small print (i knew there must be a catch...) it says that we now have to change from dial up to pay per minute...not impressed. being rather 'green' when it comes to computing, can anyone tell me a good reasonable priced broadband with out pay per minute, if there is such a thing!! TIA

maybe ive missed the point but if it is pay per minute then how can it be �14-99 per month ? maybe the pay per min to which you refer is if you exceed your monthly limit ?

many of the suppliers now offer very good deals eg my supplier,eclipse do unlimited broadband starting from
�9-99 month so surf as much as you like when you like with no hidden charges.

I have been with Tesco for 2 years now just �17. few pence.Never had a problem they are very helpful.Dont go with any that are in another country.Makes it so difficult to get things sorted.Also have there security and no problems. Hope this helps.

I am with ntl I get Broadband and my telephone for 24.99 per month plus calls

If it's Aol's �14.99 Broadband package then it's for 512k unlimited broadband with no call charges hence the �14.99 per month.

Why not go to aol keyword: Live Help and chat to a customer sevices advisor about it?

What they are saying is that if for any reason you DO have to use dial up to access AOL (such as if you are using it from another location, or if there is a problem with the broadband connection), then you will be charged as pay per minute. It has nothing to do with using AOL whilst using broadband! Hope that helps (I am on the same package!)

Thanx to you all for helping. Trev U is quite right and the pay as you go is if you use aol from another location. I emailed them today and within 10 mins they had replied stating the fact. I have therefore not cancelled it and hope to broader in the band fairly soon. Thanks guys, i love this website!!!! :-)
