Why doesn't Rishi Sunak agree with her then? The guy the Tories had as chancellor of the exchequer for the last two years. Or, for that matter, former Tory chancellors with no skin in the game, like Ken Clarke, Nigel Lawson, Norman Lamont, Philip Hammond - amazing how all these old Tory chancellors now suddenly don't have a "reasonable understanding of economics" when they back Sunak and not Truss.

You're not just choosing the next leader of the Tory party, ymf, you're choosing the country's next PM. It therefore concerns us all who you choose, and it would appear that the choice of many has been made, not because of how the members believe their candidate will do, but because of what they believe the other candidate has done.
Surely the choice ought to be which is the best person for the job. Their solutions to the current cost of living crisis are poles apart. They can both be wrong, but they can't both be right.

Ken, I must admit I find it amusing how the left know how the Tory members are thinking. Yes they will be the next PM but if your not a member you have no say and like I said even if it was a general election none of you would vote Tory so its irrelevant.
Where do I sound upset Tomus, I actually find all your(lefties) faux outrage rather amusing.

I am actually rather disappointed in you asking that, I always had you down for someone who understood economics a bit better. Well as you clearly dont then the reason is there is more than one way to skin a cat. Look up the various economic theories.

I think I do understand economics a bit better, and I find Truss's economics to be hare-brained and terrifying in comparison to what every former Tory chancellor would do!
When she was Education Minister, she refused to spell "literate":
In summary, she's a political lightweight who is happy to change her mind "after the facts change". There is no conviction about her at all. The "pork markets" video, the "cheese" video, the above two videos ... the best I've seen of her is when she showed genuine concern when that presenter collapsed in front of her recently. I'm sure she's a very nice person. But Prime Minister? Well, looks like we're going to find out just how bad she can be ...

YMF; i don't know if you have a short memory or whether you're just trying a wind-up, but, at the risk of sounding like a stuck record, i'm neither left, nor right - nor straight down the middle, for that matter. You have no idea how i voted in the last election but here's a clue, look to how my town voted in the referendum!
TTT indicated that there are many party members who, when casting their vote, will do so AGAINST Sunak rather than FOR Truss, because they cannot forgive him for stabbing Johnson in the back. It is therefore easy to surmise that Truss will be the next PM. Not because she is a better candidate than Sunak. But because she is not Sunak.
