naomi - // Piers Morgan is in no way a fan of Russell Brand but I congratulate him on that tweet. He's absolutely right. //
I entirely agree.
Mr Morgan is a critic of Mr Brand, but that does not prevent his coment on the goverment's attempts to prevent Mr Brand pursuing his career while he remains uncharged, much less convicted of any wrongdoing, and he is correct.
It is monstrous that the government should attempt to interfere and influence anyone in this manner, and entirely against the concepts of justice and fair play that they, above anyone, should be seen to uphold.
Dame Dinenage's lineage is daughter of Fred Dinenage. That is one heck of a letter to send out and there is no mistaking the content. I would be absolutely fuming if that edict went out about me. For once, Piers is spot on, imo.
Just for the record, roy I did watch Dispatches the night of transmission.

I wonder how Dame Dineage feels about her father profiting considerably from his close contact, and authorised biography of the Kray twins - murderers and criminals - from whom Mr Dineage made large amounts of money.
It appears she only has issues on an individual 'profiting from crime', when that inidividual is not a member of her own close family.
perseverer - // For what it is worth, Fred Dinenage got his MBE well after he co-wrote the Kray books. //
I'm not sure it's worth anything, since it doesn't address the point I made.
Dame Dineage is overly keen to prevent an innocent man from pursuing his lawful trade, but appeared to have no issue with accepting the proceeds of crime - or at least the proceeds from the notoriey of crime, when the proceeds were landing in her dad's bank account.
naomi - // AH, 14.04. O sense talking about 'profiting from crime' then - and you don't know that Russell Brand hasn't done anything wrong. //
Of course I don't, neither do I know if he has done anything wrong, and neither does Lady Dineage, and that's my point.
You can't condemn somebody unaccused, never mind not tried and convicted, and try and use government pressure to deny him his living, that is immoral.
