Hi Everyone. My wife had her belly pierced a few days ago but has only washed it once a day. Is this enough, or should she wash it more often? She uses Dove hand soap as recomended by the tattooists that done it. Should she also use TCP just to make sure? I used it on my ear when I had that pierced many years ago. Thanks!

Definitely not TCP it is way to aggressive!!

I would say to wash it in hot salt water twice a day, most belly piercings go wrong due to waist bands irritating them, if she can avoid that all should be well.
I used a salt solution twice a day and that worked fine. I was told specifically not to use soap though. Also taking zinc tablets is supposed to help it heal but I never got round to buying any. It does take a while to heal properly. You may think its healed, but then when it really does you'll look back and see it wasnt.
I used Savlon I think, in a blue bottle with a pink lid and it was great.

Hurt like hell for ages though!
I used surgical spirit on my piercing and it healed up quickly.
I used savlon antiseptic wound wash ,the same one as Jenna1978 :o)
i did the same as hannah....salt solution. worked a treat
I used very strong salt solution twice/three times a day and it healed really quickly with no tenderness etc. make sure to dry it properly too!
