Why are the Taliban having so much success now in killing our troops in Afghanistan when just a few months ago they were regarded as a spent force? Who are they receiving weapons from? Is this a winnable conflict as the Russians were not able to solve the problem in dealing with the Taliban so what hope have we got?
it's for the usual reason, we have to fight with one arm tied behind our backs, The liberal ******* have made it vitually impossible for us.Our guys un checked would make short work if we let them.
mainly because we decided to fight on two fronts at once. If the people who have been slowly on the retreat in Iraq for the last year or two had spent that time in Afghanistan instead, we might have had the manpower to do one job properly. Instead we're failing in two jobs.
I have no idea where the arms are coming from but remember the Pentagon mislaid something like 200,000 weapons in Iraq. No need to guess where they went; but some may well have found their way onward to Afghanistan.
We went into Afghanistan presumably for two reasons if we are to believe the politicians. First to stamp out terrorism and second to halt the West's main source of drugs.
Neither of these are any closer to being achieved, and neither will they be until we sort out the terrorist's training camps in Pakistan, and burn the poppy crops in Afghanistan.
Neilzulu1 I did not intend it was a success from a coalition point of view but sometimes you need to get into the minds of the enemy as they see it.
I remember some years ago watching a series on TV about a German U boat and its crewman fighting in WWII. Because it was shown from the viewpoint of the crew I believe many British viewers associated themselves with the enemy in attacking British ships. Weird!
