MM Links Solutions March 2008 [Week 3]

This third week in the reign of Lady Alex was definitely more controlled in terms of scoring ~ quite civilised really. I now reveal the chosen links were:

KETTLE Drum
Desert ORCHID
MORRIS Dancer
Spear POINT

As soon as I saw these pre-selected link words, I just knew that our very own kettledrum would face a terrible dilemma!

Well, DESERT ORCHID hardly lasted a minute before it was picked off by patchett, Dinkypuzzled & Grenmus in quick succession to pick up precious bonus points. In fact, Dinkypuzzled brought home a double whammy with KETTLE DRUM as well to pick up a total of FOUR POINTS ~ Well done indeed! Also on bonus points was sarumite during this early scoring spell.

Thereafter things slowed down to a trickle, feeding off these two early links until 09.40 when Entrant #30 came along in the form of kettledrum! She had been in this situation before and this time she spurned the obvious link. (Oh No!) However, to top it all, she picks off the last two hits with MORRIS DANCER and SPEAR POINT to register FOUR POINTS and rocket her through the ranks to become one of the front runners in this month�s contest. For these various reasons, I nominate kettledrum as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

How did the field shape up?
Well, most of last week�s leaders were held stationary ~ with headway being made up by joto, kettledrum & sarumite making this a more open race for the closing stages!

The League Table after three weeks is:

EIGHT POINTS: joto, sarumite & Strix
SEVEN POINTS: kettledrum & lysander
SIX POINTS: slaney & ulysses100
FIVE POINTS: burgess & gen2
FOUR POINTS: BigMac, SHAZZA & Dinkypuzzled

With two weeks still to go, any number of people can win!
March is surely proving to be a mad month indeed!

As I apear to be the first on here tonight, may I congratulate ketledrum and all the others in bold for their magnificent efforts this week.

I am merely glad to have troubled the scorer - two weeks in a row, now, so the trend must be with me.....

Alas, I will probably have to miss the next two weeks' competition, but good luck everyone else.

BTW, it IS incredibly slow on here tonight, isn't it?

Well!! How could Lady Alex present me with such a quandary ,,, and of course I guessed wrong! But thanks, Crofter, for nominating me as Hot Shot of the week. That makes up for a lot, especially as for the first time ever I'm in touch with the leaders. Just watch yourselves, Joto, Strix & Sarumite ..... Kettledrum's got the bit between her teeth.

Well done Kettledrum, hotshot of the week and thanks to Ladyalex for choice of words and Crofter for scoring, even though this month haven't scored at all. You see on saturday mornings I am now torn between the links game and the local Car Boot Sale and at the moment the latter is winning!!!!
Next Saturday I will be in Brixham so will be reporting for duty at 9am, perhaps I may do better then!!!
