This fifth and final week in the reign of Lady Alex was brutal, as you will see when I reveal the pre-selected link words were:

Ouch! Lady Alex plays hard ball and leaves March as a LION not as a LAMB!

Scoring was thin on the ground, the Shrubbery Squad were fooled, but a worthy winner has emerged!

Sorry Strix, I mis-remembered who was winner and who was runner-up that time - I just remembered an exchange of emails. It was fordward who took the honours that month.

Lysander, crofter obviously has a strong faith in the workings behind the scenes of the AB editorial team. I, however, do not share that belief and rather doubt the presence of an AB Editor at all on a Sunday.

Congratulations lysander - I had a notion that you were of the female gender. I see you are also the leader of the pack in the KM links, maybe you are in for the double this month.

I would just like to add a message to strix, sarumite, and all the other chaps who play this game......we are letting the girls win too often...it's about time we had a man setting the links....must work out a plan in the shrubbery on friday...see you then, have a good week

Thanks Crofter and Lady Alex. I did take the HARDER hint to heart and looked somewhat deeper for links this week hence PANE and PASCHAL!! Good month, good fun and thanks again to all for their hard work!

Oh bah humbug !!! think I scored a whole one point in the five weeks !!! but thank you ladyalex for a most entertaining contest and our very reliable crofter for keeping the show rolling alone.

More Bah! Humbug! as I don't think we even scored one point in the whole month.
Strix Having Googled Marchpane and found that it's edible I now need another recipe to go along with the Eton Mess.
Thanks Lady Alex for some very tough links - too tough for us, but we did learn about desserts we never knew existed and are looking forward to the actual tasting of same.
