13 Month MOT?
14 Answers
Hi everyone. Can someone clarify the rules on MOTs? My MOT is due to expire on 1st August 2008. I will be away on holiday on this date. If I get the car MOT'd on 1st July can the expiry date on the new MOT be dated 1st August 2009? I seem to recall that it is possible to get a 13 month MOT. Am I right?

The new computerised system will only allow forward dating from 2nd July. On 1st july it will not allow forward dating at all. Most mot stations will allow you to bring it back later but its a job slot lost for them! You dont need to produce your old certificate, its all on computer.
