Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere and welcome to "The Perils of Poor Pauline"! Let me explain.
Last month, there was an epic struggle between Alibobs & AllyLally which resulted in a last-minute victory for ex-champion Alibobs who graciously stood down in favour of first-time winner AllyLally. I therefore embarked on an AllyLally Hunt, however all was in vain as (through nobody's fault) my attempts to make contact were fruitless. It can take about four emails to "train up" a new champion to meet the MM standard (there are tricks of the trade which are divulged only to the select few)!
The clock was ticking and I became desperate. I mean really desperate! With only two days ago I needed a back-up plan. I had to have someone who knew ropes, who can take the pressure and yet would be a worthy Links Setter. I began thinking the unthinkable! Pauline Ward had held court in my absence, she had an excellent score last month (and missed out on bonus points by only one minute to take her to even greater heights) and I had been saved from the rhymes of "Lady Limerick". She would do a great job!
On Monday morning Sarumite won't be waving farewell, he is staying 10 days (I think).I will be at home anyway but I will enjoy the 2 days!!!!
Re Paulines link words tomorrow....Does anyone think ANYONE can read Pauline's mind or get on her wavelength??? It will be interesting to see who does guess her words!!!!!
Do you think we don't get many people in the shrubbery now because we don't drink so much anymore ????
What has happened to all the old regulars????
I think a lot of the old shrubbery mates need to revisit!!
We will issue a party invitation next Friday...Sarumite can fetch his mushrooms...Kay can bake a gluten free cake...Strix can DJ...I will keep general order...Jan can provide grub...with nectar points!!
Well, I've done my best to try to addle Pauline's brains before she submits her link words tomorrow morning in a hope of subliminally suggesting various musical links, or has crofter been a strict disciplinarian and insisted on the links from her to be in on Friday afternoon when she was in the Shrubbery and "compos mentis"?!!
Pauline I can now make Gluten free Lemon Meringue pie!!! Am turning in now as I am extremely tired but i will leave you with a lovely song which this brilliant lady sang last week when I saw her. \she was fantastic!!!
