Could you repost in Scottish please afore I answer ye?
I think they have every right to demand an explanation, and they should.
This might sound like stating the bleeding obvious...fit a lock to your door.

hays can you not understand my lingo .......noM he will just say he was looking for something, they need to see him taking their property
Question Author
yeah carr, but they are there 2 years with no probs and no locks, only locks on the little locker, yet he gets into that
Why would the hooded one walk into their room and close their laptop unless he was doing something he didn't want caught on camera? They at least have the right to ask.
Why would they be going in their room anyway?

Have to confront him - I guess if anything of any value was to going missing they couldn't claim on their insurance due to lack of locks? They need to think on that.

so your mate is stealing from your other mate?

suggest a wee night in together to watch a dvd then play the footage from the laptop camera

sorted :P
I would firstly ask for the explanation, and very quickly afterwards fit a very secure lock, whether they like it or not! after all, they are entitled to have their private area secure!
