On The Kee Vee

Anybody know what this phrase means? (The spelling is optional). Not sure where or when I first heard it, or if I was just in an illegal state of mind and misheard something somebody said, but it keeps coming back and bothering me.
Any ideas?

Yes, the regular saying, a warning, is 'Be on the qui vive for that !' 'Qui vive' sounds like 'kee veeve' but could be misheard as 'kee vee'. The French sentry's challenge is more interesting than our 'Who goes there!' !
