I was delighted to see that last week’s launch of MM Links went without a hitch, in spite of the fact that “King John” (aka rockfordill) was a links-setter virgin. He freely admitted that he had pretty basic IT skills to call upon, but he sped up the IT learning curve and quickly got into the spirit of things. He has sworn to make tomorrow’s game a little tougher, but he doesn’t realise just how tenacious the Shrubbery Squad are!
How awful for her....and they were supposed to be the adults! Power crazy obviously.
Why do people just presume and not find out the facts first. I see that happen so many times where people just jump in feet first.
My motto in life has always been..If in doubt -say nowt!
But then when I'm not in doubt...I can say a lot! :-))
Good evening all....Pauline, it sounds as if I had the same virus as you, had to return from Germany on the second day of my holiday, therefore we never reached Oberammergau to see the Passion Play!
Hi Pauline, still feeling a little weak with tingling in my fingers, but I'll probably return to the doctors soon if the feeling doesn't come back soon.
I went to Oberammergau 10 years ago, but my wife wasn't allowed time off school to go even though she arranged for a replacement teacher who would have been cheaper to employ for the week with my wife not being paid! I may try to book for a short visit before the season finishes at the start of October, but I've got to wait for the insurance payout as it's not cheap.
I did notice that twix! That's when footballers were in it for the sport and gamesmanship!
I do hope you manage to take your wife again...third time lucky! The insurance should pay out...although it might take time. I was going to ask you about that..but didn't want to appear too intrusive!
I remember it well, we watched on a black and white tv in a friends flat with a few crates of beer to keep the spirits up. They played only for the glory in those days unlike the pampered fairies we seem to have today!
I shouldn't have any trouble with the insurance as I'm currently a self employed management consultant working part time in a firm of insurance brokers, therefore I'll get my Claims Department involved should the insurers not play ball!
I had a run in with my Insurance Company in the last few weeks. Insured for 27 years with them, and only one claim, after a flood! I had an issue with them this time over wording of policy which THEY changed...not us! They have agreed and changed the wording of the new policy documents for everyone to avoid confusion. I was quite impressed that they listened...a big company too! A sCO-OP for them! :-)
Back to the Football...they were a bunch of Jessie's as far as I'm concerned!
They lacked motivation, committment and even pride...they either didn't know the words of the National Anthem, or they were ignorant!
They are overpaid and underworked! If anyone else performed so badly regularly in their job, they would be down the road!
Rant over...for now!!
I'm still waiting to see when Wayne Rooney is going to turn up in South Africa, I'm sure he wasn't there with the England team a few weeks ago!
The Insurers have to listen nowadays, with the heavy handed regime of the Financial Services Authority. The big mantra nowadays is 'Treating the Customer Fairly' and nothing must be mis-leading, especially as the penalties that can be imposed are very large, and the customer has the subsequent right to take their argument to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Not only rubbish, they are so overpaid that poor Wayne has had to go to his £5 million house in Barbados to recuperate. I also saw in the paper that Ashley Cole was partying in LA, obviously he must be very fit to play football as he was smoking in the picture!
Goodnight Pauline, sleep well, I'm sure that you'll be up in plenty of time to do the links at 9.00 a.m. and give Reg his turn before 9.02! As for me, I'll probably be doing them at my normal time of 1.00 a.m. Sunday morning.
