Have noticed what looks like a boil (size of a 5p) on the front part of pubic area..i have not squeezed it as it just burst in the shower, lots and lots of pus has come out of it and now it wont stop bleeding, there is a massive deep hole in the middle of it, but is has been constantly bleeding now for a good few hours....my concern is will it heal ok and will it leave a horrible scar ? Unsure if its a hair follicle but never had anything like this before...is it worth seeing my GP ? Not sure what the difference is between a boil or absess...

There are dressings available now that can clean a wound at the same time as promoting healing and modern packing type dressings can be washed out rather then being pulled out damaging the healing areas beneath.
If you want to do some more DIY an old remedy is warm magnesium suphate paste from the chemist on some gauze leave it til the gunk shows through the dressing then change it for more until it looks clean...

I managed not to laugh loud until I got to pinki's 'go for a walk' comment! Seriously though, I've had them and they do eventually dry up and heal, although you can lost the scabby top a couple of times first. Sometimes they leave a small purple shiny scar and sometimes they don't. When I get one now I just put a bit of bio oil on it and hope for the best. Still no idea what causes them though... and totally with you on keeping my bits to myself whilst its visible, there are things hubby just doesn't need to see!
