Hey I was out shopping and I heard somebody say that antibacterial soaps pose as a environmental threat. So my question to all of you is How do antibacterial soaps pose an environmental threat? Again I am new so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong area. Plus why where on the subject Why are antibacterial cleansers not recommended? I use them and I find nothing wrong with antibacterial cleansers.

the plastic bottles they come in are , well, plastic
When you go on a cruise everyone has to use this hand wash before entering any of the food establishments so as not to spread any viruses.
We need to build up our immunity. The over use of anti bacterial cleaners stops us doing this. It's all a big con. A huge marketing ploy to make us think we are all at risk if we don't use them. The only people to benefit are the manufacturers and the retailers.
I agree with Lottie. When you think how many people reach very old age without using all these new fandangled inventions, it makes you wonder how they managed it!
P.S. When I was a youngster, we used to have one bar of carbolic in the kitchen & one bar of Palmolive in the bathroom.

We all used to share the same bars of soap & it didn't do any of us lot any harm - even tho' Dad was always tinkering in the shed, or on his car & motorbike! ;o|

One bar of carbolic s
Where did that last unfinished sentence come from - not me!
