November holiday for two golden oldies
We are looking for a reasonable inexpensive two week getaway sometime in november, don't want to spend to much as we have a month's holiday in Cape-Towm booked for January.Has ayone got any bright ideas of where to go where there is some sunshine and places to visit/things to do. We don't want to spend much more that £400 each and are happy self catering if that gets us a more interesting option. We are experienced travellers with worldwide annual travel insurance

We usually stay in a self-catering apartment and hire a car. Everywhere is very quiet at that time and we often have beaches and restaurants to ourselves. The Canary Islands are nice in November as are Madeira, Malta and Cyprus.

We've always had lovely weather in November Ann. People think it's winter but November is still the middle of autumn. The only thing is that it gets dark at about 6pm but it's still warm. When we visit somewhere we usually leave there at dusk or after dark and by the time we've driven back and made a meal it's time for bed.
I suppose you can be unlucky with the weather but that's the case anywhere. We like the peace and quiet.
