Just watching Masterchef (the competitors are at three star restaurants) and they are spending ages faffing about with the food, how do they get the food out to the customers without it going cold?

Maybe they don't. Have had food served in restaurants which have been warm rather than hot. Usually too hungry to complain.
I don't think they do sherrardk. Weren't the oysters lukewarm in one of the dishes? I hate the way they keep touching it - people have got to eat it!

It's getting on my wick the way they keep pushing it and prodding it - just get on with it and put the food on the flipping plate!
It goes onto warm plates...and looking at the portion sizes it won't take long to eat.

I'm used to eating cold food, I eat so slowly...
And <shock gasp) the woman put the cabbage leaves on the plate the wrong way round - OMG!

Lard, you should have told me you had a spoiler, now my viewing pleasure is ruined (not).

Ummmm - I am a really slow eater and if we eat out I try to choose cold foods as by the time I have dished out ketchup, cut up food, etc mine is bloody old anyway.
Don't know why I watched it really as the voice of the woman who does the talky bits in between the eaty bits drives me NUTS!

I have it on in the background - don't know why I watch it either (note to self, get a life!).
On that note - I'll just go and make myself a snack - cheese & biscuits, with a lemongrass foam & mange tout jus, celeriac teardrops & chips (all facing the same way) of course

I've deleted it - it was doing my head in. Ps - I'll have some of what you're having if there is any going spare, just go easy on the jus!
I was wondering how if they are all finished at the same time
For judging....if you are not judged first....your dinner must be going cold by then!!!!
I've had chips in McDonalds that have been lukewarm.
It is a staged show not a documentary they do rehearsals . I remember a comment from one contestant a while back, they filmed him putting his white jacket 5 times until they got it right. I wouldn't be surprised to find they actually make several lots of each dish to get the filming right. It is presented as a straight contest but there is a lot of editing and refilming.
