Madeleine Mccann Investigation.
Would I, a humble ex-squadie and PE teacher, receive the same allocation of police resources and media attention as the McCanns, given the same circumstances ?

Kate looks haunted by it all they will both have to live with the "what ifs" for the rest of their lives. I wouldn't wish what they must be going through on my worst enemy.
I really hope that the recent publicity brings the breakthrough that is needed and her parents at long last find out what happened to her.

My view exactly puddle-duck.
derek, the person who took Madeleine is to blame. It could have happened when the whole family were asleep in their beds or when the parents were watching TV. I remember a case many years ago where a child was removed from her bed through a caravan window while the rest of the family slept. It was in this country and the family were on holiday. If I remember correctly she was found and returned safely.
Persecuting, or prosecuting, the McCanns achieves nothing. Finding their daughter is all that matters now. The videos and pictures of this family that we have seen before M was taken show a loving and happy family. The horrendous pictures we see too regularly in the papers of severely abused starved and unloved neglected children are what I would call gross neglect, amongst other things. Like puddle-duck, I totally get your anger at them leaving their children alone but Kate has said if she had thought, even for one minute, that any harm could come to them then she wouldn't have done it. I actually can't understand why the thought never occurred to her because I think it would to most people. Me, I see danger round every corner and my friends make fun of me for it. But it is clear to see the woman is in agony and has been for six years. Can't you find a bit of compassion in your heart for her?

10 points to Sir0racle for spotting my non-deliberate mistake. I only realised later, while reading a piece about the McCann case on Wikipedia.
My recollection of the piece has evidently deteriorated to the point where I cannot recall whether it was Porto or 'the capital' that was actually mentioned.

Thank you jno.
Just found a link to the child taken from a caravan. Can't believe it was 20 years ago and I've remembered it when I can't remember what I did yesterday LOL.
Here it is for anyone interested.

There is too much bizarre evidence surrounding this case to think it was a simple abduction
like the discovery of cadaverine and blood in the hotel room - on madelines toy - that kate washed - even though it may have held evidence of the kidnapper - but you cannot wash cadaverine off
there was a dead body in that hotel room, in the mccanns car and on their clothes and toys - and blood was spilled - but there were no records of anyone else dying in the room or car.
to many things that just dont add up
