Take your time and get a feel for the place on the first night, and then head for anywhere where you can hear lots of Italian voices. Not infallible but a good start.

we had a nice pizza for lunch at a little open-air place down an alley on the southwest side of the Accademia bridge, right on the water's edge. Good view of the palazzi across the water and it wasn't particularly expensive. That was five years ago and things may have changed. I can see it on Google Canal View but can't see its name.
