Rant here - big time - new kitchen is just 8 months old.

Visitor's sole of her boot came off on Saturday night.

I have just found on my lovely countertops 2 lots of glue where she glued her boot over it.

She proceeded to stand the leg of my table on it and I did say you need to protect my wooden floors - oh yes I have put newspapers down.

Am absolutely raging. Next door neighbour hopefully will get it off.

Stupid funker. Visitor that is.

I did tell her to get a pair of cheap shoes to get her home. No way she said I am just after spending £70 on a pair of boots back home. This lady is very wealthy.

End of rant.

I can only giggle to myself reading this thread having been ticked off earlier in the year for not being a welcoming host ;-)

On smooth surfaces I have found Super Glue picks off quite easily.

thanks for that link Tony.

Eccles my countertops are highly glossed so I need to be careful.

Vaguely I remember you being ticked off but everybody has a reason to not welcome people anymore. To me, some people are too able.
Grrrrr how rude Jenny!!! Surely she must of thought that the glue would go all over? Me thinks she's spiteful and probably jealous of your lovely kitchen!!
Be sure you or your help does a patch test before going anywhere near your work surfaces.
conn. despite your rant, I do believe she had a lovely time with you. I wonder did she put a picture on her IPAD of the stain ? :)

Anne - she forced herself to have a lovely time with me cos it suits her.

Anyway will look in B&Q for glue removal, as I said I did think it was burn marks so all is not lost.
don't fret conn. it will get fixed. I bet your pleased to get the house to yourself now, :)
No comfort to you but I will be very surprised if 'superglue' sticks a boot sole back on for more than an hour or two.
Think Eddie is right she will have wet foot by now lol
Jenny, what are your countertops made of? It's important to get the right stuff.
Question Author
Frog Nog - my neighbour is a builder/contractor so I am leaving it in his hands. To be honest I am doing my best not to email her and let her know what she has done but know maybe it won't be worth it. Words fail me at the moment - she is like myself - pretty up to date re DIY - so she should have known some glue would have dripped.

No, to an earlier post - I do know she would not have done it in badness.
Put the mouse down and go to bed. :)
