Which way does my CPU fan go?

At the moment its blowing air out, should'nt it be sucking air in to cool the CPU. Im saying this because I have had a few problems with my pc just randomly shutting down and rebooting.

Computer just switched off?

I was using my computer when it jus suddenly switched off and started back up again. The error report says that it was a serious error. What happend? Did it overheat?
