Secret Moderators

I would like to acknowledge that there are some accounts that have been created by our moderators, to help them control the community, without breaking their normal identity.
Having multiple AnswerBank accounts is against site rules. However, these accounts have been approved by the Editors.
These moderators will be added to this thread, and you should give them as much respect as you would give to an Editor.
If you are a moderator, and would like to have one of these accounts, please send us an email.

Zacsmaster - It looks like I started all of this last night. In the past I removed posts and had to watch as a row breaks out about who was responsible and why. I can now use my usual name to remove the posts and explain why in my secretmod name. I will also be able to warn posters to kerb their tempers and it might result in less suspensions happening.

I will have to behave the same as I always have.
If I ban or suspend someone or if I remove a comment or a whole thread in my usual name I will still have to justify myself to the Ed.
The difference now is that I will put a comment up explainign why in my SecretMod name so that everyone else can understand it as well.

This was the post that made no sense to me....
//"SpareEd, just to clarify, does that mean that all future recruits will not need a secret name and that their regular user name will be added to the list?"
//Yes.
//For example, Emmie and Buenchico would not be permitted to use a secret account, as their identities are already known to the community.

Exactly, Albs, you are spot on. If you are a Mod and want to 'out' yourself, so be it - however, it does carry risk as in having to handle the baying wolves out there who cry 'injustice' or, even worse, insults and I can think of things that are more dreadful such as hounding and real-life intervention. It's a Mod's choice though if he/she/woke-acceptable genders go this 'open' route.....
Seriously, I know I have criticised the way this site has been managed over recent years but this really is unbelievable and to be honest, in my opinion, laughable. We just need good moderation by good
moderators with no fancy titles. AB management needs to do some research and get a proper simple system running for 7 days a week.
