Secret Moderators

I would like to acknowledge that there are some accounts that have been created by our moderators, to help them control the community, without breaking their normal identity.

Having multiple AnswerBank accounts is against site rules. However, these accounts have been approved by the Editors.

These moderators will be added to this thread, and you should give them as much respect as you would give to an Editor.

If you are a moderator, and would like to have one of these accounts, please send us an email.

Perhaps if the mods just did modding instead of prodding where it was necessary there wouldn't be the need for secrecy? It seems to me to be another layer of red tape and confusion. [Disclaimer. Please note this is an opinion, and should be regarded as such and not removed.]

TheCorbyLoon- It's blindingly obvious who SecretMod is. But obviously, it's not for me to say. If SecretMod wishes to remain secret, perhaps they should do their moderation in a different style to their usual non-secret posts. In that way, we could be less certain.

answerbank has always had sacred departments like body and soul as well as law and let us face it if khandro put a youtube video in body and soul then it would probably be removed because people want to hear from the one true messiah sqad i assume barmaid is the woman version of sqad but for law

Moderation shouldn’t be in a ‘style’, it should be purely factual. Suggesting, in secret mode that if people don’t see things in a certain way means that they’re ‘part of the problem’ is simply not on.

Sheer insolence, Zacs, when you know secret Mods should be shown The Respect we all hold for The Editor, as specified by The Original Post Above by His/Her Secretish AB Spare Editor. Who is the Editor by the way, and do They ever put in an Appearance do They appear in the Council of Secret Mods behind closed doors?

Gness, other forums have mods who have little signs saying that they are moderators. It works.

It is getting the balance between chatter and fact on non-CB posts that seems to be an issue. Johnny Cash had no place in that thread.

I admit to being guilty of using CB material outwith CB.

Anyway there are too many angry people. And people accusing others of misdeeds, esp multi user names, without proof.

You’re right about angry people or is it some jumping in to have a go at another member rather than contributing to the OP.
That seems to happen far too often now. We seem to have lost many of the folk who could discuss rationally. Easy to see why we’ve lost them though. :-(

I can hardly believe I'm reading that. Gobsmacked! Is that your advice on how to encourage people to use AB? No rules broken but unless you can offer a level of expertise in a specific area don’t respond? I fear, my dear, that your version of moderation - and admin's apparent support of it - isn't 'part of the problem' - it is the problem - and if the powers that be, after years of being told the same thing, still can't see that, it is, sadly for their business, their problem.
