Now look here Robinia ..I know we're running short on space ...but I had great difficulty reading that semaphore ...It looks something like ......Don' t panic Vinny we are on our way to Woolly with twig trees and home grown beetroot .
I bet he's out when we get there ....!

I don't think I would fancy that shiatsu .I feel as if I've been gone over by a steamroller most days lately without more of the same .
By the way Kit ..I have armed myself with Alpaca wool and the correct size needles, printed off the wristwarmer pattern from Garnstudio but I can't make head nor tail of it even though they have translated it into English .
Does that picot edging run up the side of the work or is it from the top down ? Heeelp :))

Hi all...just a passing pop in but had to tell you that I pretty near persisted myserlf over the bum bra...here comes a true story about my Mum.. I can't tell it to many people but you guys will get it. My Mum's cousin's son (kind of my cousin but a generation older) was in films..he's retired now but when I was a kid in the sixties, he was making films about swinging London. A huge story then was topless dresses and he wanted to put them in a film; also dresses with padding in the bum...kind of heartshaped padding that fitted into a pocket on the dreeiere (cant spell at this time of night. The dresses were tight cheong sam type with wiring (stop your ears Vinny) in two sort of curves under the bust with a little sort of padded shelf. Anyway my Mum was a dressmaker (court dressmaker, she made clothes for Wallis Simpson but that's another story) so she made the dresses....must to a net search and see if there are any pictures.
nightie night
Evening, biddy bums. Did you know, herring break wind to communicate. It's true, can't help it if you don't believe me!

Haven't knitted a thing since I got my computer Shaney and I won't be able to give a detailed description as I don't know the correct terminology even in Swedish, but to answer your question this is what it looks like while still on the needle (How in god's name that Vinny person manages to draw with a mouse is completely beyond me, I gotta hand it to you Vinny you're good) so the way I've been doing them I've made a seam. I think you've asked me in the past if I use circular needles and I said no but that's because I always get that word mixed up with double pointed needles that you'd use for socks. I do use circular needles, but only because it's more comfortable, not to avoid making a seam. Each picot thingy equals four rows. For Neti's wrist warmers (if you remember them from the pictures by the pool side :-) I changed the colour every four rows. When you're wearing the wrist warmers the picot thingies should point in the same direction as your nails.

Hope this answered what you wanted to know...?

Oh Woofy do try to find some of those dresses, I'd love to see!
woofy I remember those topless dresses. I saw them in a shop on the Streatham High Road, and thought they were very racey! Much as I liked high fashion I did draw the line at wearing those!!!
Oh how wonderful Woofy . Made clothes for Wallis Simpson .Gosh I bet she could tell some tales ! Did she ever meet her ? I remember those dresses ..everything sort of bulged out at the top !
I think I saw something like that a few years ago when they did a fashion exhibition which included 60's clothes at the V&A There were some weird and wonderful and things there !
In fact we stood there saying .....ooooh ..I had a dress like that .....not a topless one of course ....Tut !
<kit seriously considers taking a lead from the herring community as that might make her more detectable to...>

...SHANEY!!!!!!!!

*crying in her mu tea*
Tut ..sorry Kit I get side tracked . Mr S in one ear and I do tend to roam around other threads ... note to self to calm down and not get over excited .....I blame Vinny he's a bad influence when the moon isn't in the correct alignment to my star .
Thank you for that ..I shall have another go .I can see where I went wrong now .The picot goes up the side .if I can't do it I will be back !
As for herrings ..well I think I have eaten more herrings in my life than I care to remember .My Dad was a trawlerman after he left the MN after the war and we lived on the ruddy things.
Mind you you cannot beat a fried herring . Breaking wind or not .
Picky took me up to the maritime festival here a few weeks ago just so that I could have a fried herring and a buttered roll served up by the lifeboatmen. It was luverly !.
Anyway I must go to bed .I have the new Mma Ramotswe ..The Miracle at Speedy Motors ..bliss ..Nite nite xxx

:-)

<tiptoes in & does impression of a herring.....
they'll blame it on Vinny, tee hee>

> > > > > >
anyone seen the TV prog or heard an interview or anything and know how to pronounce Mma, as in Ramotswe, and know what it stands for? My Tswana is imperfect...
Morning each and every!

Robi what is an impression of a herring? Do you flop about on the floor or is it the smell????
OI..I can ere you yer know...(:O)
Mma means mrs or mother jno...cant find the tuther one.
Just "ma" as far as I can hear, jno, unless there's some sophisticated twirl of the tongue my Viking ears are missing.

Off down-town a little later to meet some friends for an early dinner. It's my pig-loving friend if you remember, and her guy's sister. Most of my friends live in other towns and come here with a list of things to do, some which involve me and some which don't, and today I'll be culinarically involved even though purse says No. Purse always says No. (Can I interest any of you biddies in a heist?)
Ain't he cute, I like him.
(((Bing Bong))) nows yer chance to ask the ED a question on suggs>>>>>(:O)
