Do you think you could drop by Kit and find out when his next book is due for release in the UK? I'm waiting for The Return of the Dancing Master .
Mind you I expect it takes a while for them to be translated .We get them donkeys years after they are published .They seem to release them in America first . I remember ordering the White Lioness from America .
Mind you this was back in the days of a stable economy when I didn't think twice about buying handbags and books.
I only think once these days and have to be very strict about it .I am eking out my Haloumi until Friday .
I can't afford any new new liberty bodices this year either :)) I'll have to make do with the old ones with the mangled buttons.

Hey kit I also saw the JNO car when I was in Stockholm, but Mr N wouldn't let me to photo it. The car I want is a Renault Megane coupe.

They do one translation for the US and one for the UK, Shaney? Not saying it doesn't make sense, I just wasn't aware. I just checked what the cost would be if I were to buy the dance teacher book for you here and send it to you but that would most likely be more expensive than if you get it from Amazon. / Apparently you folks awarded him an honorary degree earlier this year. Yes ..he's a brilliant guy Kit .He's lived in Africa for many years and done lots of good work especially with those suffering from Aids .
And I am losing it !
I have read Return of the Dancing Master ! And the last one to be translated for us which was Kennedy's Brain
.So I am up to date after all. Although my brain is slightly behind !
It's the one entitled The Grave that's his latest one .There's no mention of publication dates on the website .
I shall just have to wait and keep an eye on the website .

We saw the jno car just where we got off the sightseeing boat and it had two chauffers or hencemen with it: I remember blubbering to Mr N that I wanted to photo the car for jno and he said "who? don't be silly"

By the way Vinny did you see that cookery prog last night ? Right up your street it was ! I did giggle .It's called What to Eat Now and the presenter was at this farm where the chap grows beetroot . Not any ordinary beetroot either .It was biodynamic beetroot .
Haha ....He was going round with a shovel gathering cow pats for his compost and then putting all these weird herbs in it .The beetroot could only be harvested when the moon and stars were in the right position ..Ooh I did laugh, mind you those beetroots were humungous !

Afternoon, few ones. Had a nice chat with Mankell's publishers over the phone earlier today; they said they thought the dance teacher book had already been released in the UK and I argued back saying it hadn't... ha ha no it's alright Shaney I wasn't at all unpleasant about it and neither were they so that's okay. Anyway they said they don't relly keep track, so, for future reference: You'd have to call the UK publishers. I did learn that the Beeb have been shooting a whole documentary on Henning Mankell, they were filming in Ystad in the early summer this year so keep your eyes open for that. (Ystad isn't just where Wallander operates from, it's also where I grew up, remember?)

That license plate is very odd indeed Neti. As far as I know all cars here have three letters + three digits... Perhaps it was related to some kind of commercial event where he participated - he and his Swedish wife do have an apartment in the posh part of town you know so who knows.

Tai chi tonight, hope I get it together! Jude you'll have to come here and help me if I don't.

Hi All >/b> almost decided to look for a new car. I really would like Golf GTi but I think I'm a bit too old so I might just stick with a new Focus.
Enjoyed the car piccies you've put on.

Kit been to Tai Chi this am. would love to come and help you but I've only been doing it for 3 years and still learning. I've got into the habit of about half way through the class I nip off for a coffee. There's a lovely shop next door that does all sorts of lovely coffees and sells lots of jams and biscuits and cakes and things. Mind you last week I slipped up. I have to apologise to people who have to have gluton free products because I bought some ginger crisp biscuits and they tasted like eating sand and when I looked at the packet it said gluton free. There is a lady who goes to Tai Chi who has to have gluton free diet and she says she has got used to it after 30 years of being on it. I don't envy her at tall. She has my sympathy.

Hope you are alright Woofy I remember when my Mum passed away in 2001. My sister and me did the organising and we were able to help each other through the initial grieving. I was still working at the time and they gave me 2 weeks off.

And Robi hope your brother is making good progress.
