Disappointing that the Ed chooses to make a reappearance on his first day back (yesterday) by initiating a thread in Chatterbank ....

Wouldn`t the better way have been FIRSTLY to send a New Year message to ALL Abers and write an Editor`s Blog?

Not for the first time the Ed has chosen Chatterbank as the point of re-entry and the place to express bonhomie after a period of absence ....

I would presume he chose CB as it has much more traffic. People who stick to others cats tend not to get banned as often.

It just confirms what most of us already think about the new Ed.

Would have been far better , as you say taize, to have posted a blog.

This site needs an experienced, efficient and business like team to bring it up to standards on all counts.

Chatterbank seems to be the main purpose of this site according to the present editor. The site existed perfectly well without it and chat in other areas was tolerated within reason - and with good moderation and editing it could get back to its old standards.

The name of this site should indicate what the site is all about.

I really can't see the problem with the new ED. No different to the other ones in my opinion.

I feel the same ummmm. The only prob's I find irritating is that the search facility doesn't work properly, along with the facilities on My Profile.

Apart from that, I'm quite happy to pop in now & again to peruse the site.

Chatterbank generates the msst revenue for the site.Its good business sense to be nice to your best customers or hardest workers.

The sites a business not a womans institute meeting.
Advertising is what pays the bills.

I didn't the see the Ed. question in Chatterbank Daniela - could it have gone into another section if he wanted feedback. The point is that Chatterbank, as nice as it may be for a lot of users, was not intended to be the purpose of the site. Perhaps it should be a site all on its own!!

In that case then Daniella a post by Ed would have been better put here in Suggestions? Afterall, if we want to make a post for the Ed this is where we put it.

Chatterbank has not been in existence that long. The site managed quite well without it. It got taken away once because of misuse and the site was fine. It didn't get reintroduced to increase advertising revenue, but after a lot of continuous pleading from CB users and countless promises to tone down the content.

I didn't say it was right for him to put it in chatterbank. Suggestions or the polls section would have been ideal.
All I said was that he asked everone if they had had a good Christmas holidays, and he hung around for a bit for some answers.
I thought it was jolly decent of him, so why all the slagging him off!

Everone asked for a more personal touch sort of ED, but still you all moan.
The poor guy can't win can he??

Hate to disagree with you lottie :-(

But do you not remember how Body & Soul was before CB was reintroduced? That became the new (old?) CB and the chattier type questions were pushing the genuine questions off the page.

I personally think it's a good thing that CB was brought back, but like the rest of you, I'm flummoxed as to why the Ed seems to favour that category above others.
