Disappointing that the Ed chooses to make a reappearance on his first day back (yesterday) by initiating a thread in Chatterbank ....

Wouldn`t the better way have been FIRSTLY to send a New Year message to ALL Abers and write an Editor`s Blog?

Not for the first time the Ed has chosen Chatterbank as the point of re-entry and the place to express bonhomie after a period of absence ....

I don't mind this new Ed Daniella, like you said he shows his face more, which is a good thing I guess. The site does seem to run smoother with this one around. The only gripe I had with him was the kerfuffle surrounding TCL. I can however understand why Taize made this post- seems strange that the Ed has made just one post on the site since his return and it was only on CB- where despite the traffic- it's not frequented by the majority of AB users.

Daniela, you can be personal and still be efficient and business like. We have had Eds that have been given a lot more personal input than this present one - all over the site.

ummm - I agree there was a problem and that the CB'ers moved over to CB. The point I am trying to make is that with good moderation and the allowance of reasonable chat in all sections we shouldn't need a Chatterbank. If people want a site purely to chat in then why not go to a chat site? The main point I was making is that CB wasn't reintroduced to increase advertising revenue.

Because it's chat prompted by a question. If we all went on MSN we'd run out of things to say.

Plus most would get blocked for being abusive....

I've never used a chat room before. So this is the closest I've ever come.

Maybe the ED can give us a new blog soon and explain.

I'm sure he has a backlog of work to catch up on after the break.

Actually, I don't mind CB being there at all - it doesn't affect me, but I do agree with Taize that it's not the place to wish the majority of ABs a Happy New Year. The Ed always seeems to use CB for his postings,. He announces Ed's chats in CB and then the Ed's chats take place in Suggestions!!

I've had so many invites to go on MSN, facebook & the others, but decline, as I simply don't get time.

I think it's nice that we can pop on here now & then, chat in short, to posters of interest, then pop off again - not literally I might add!

No as I've never used one. On MSN you accept people, If they turn out to be nutters you can block them. I had someone from this site find out my address and even my ex BF name.

quick agreement with boo about b&s i never knew of cb as i only joined in may2006 so cb wasnt here

i was on b&s and was wary even dismissive of cb working.
but i was won round and saw the error of my ways.

im all infavour of cb

and mostly post there .

Wouldn't necessarily be blocked for abuse on other 'chat' sites ummmm. I've only perused them when being invited & some things I've read on there would make your hair curl - if it was straight! ;o}

It's not as bad as it was Leggy. I couldn't keep up with the question turnover when I first joined. Then it disappered.
