(This is a rerun of a question I asked a while back in the main category. Didn't get any replies there - could it be that the real buffs dwell in subcategories only? Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial but I really want that poster - if indeed it exists.)

I used to own a black-and-white photo postcard from a Martha Graham production where dancer Merce Cunningham comes flying through the air in one giant leap. A woman (Graham?) sits at her desk in a jaded pose studying his flight toward her as if she were assessing his flying techniques rather than anticipating his company. Cunningham's body is cram full with energy, he's like a spring just released; looking at the picture you feel he must surely bounce once he lands.

I'd love to have this photo on my wall as a poster but haven't been able to find it. I'm good at advanced googling but search engines do provide different results in different countries - so if you're in the mood for some googling and you don't live in Sweden...

High as a kite so early in the evening... No I like your kite-and-beach, Vinny, makes me think of summer. I was looking at a Paint tutorial the other day where they were talking about choosing any size for your Paint brush, I couldn't do it myself 'cos I don't have a numpad (I use a mini keyboard), but guess what - you can make your very own brushes in Paint and it's a whole lot of fun. Look:

I started out with this infinity sign and divided it in half to make it more like a circle, and then I just followed the instructions in Chapter two, custom brushes, and made this - just by dragging half of eternity around the page! Please don't say it looks like bowels, I'd rather think of it as stacks of coins..

Anyway, you can use anything as a brush - a picture, a letter or a line. here's the tutorial - and if you have a numpad on your keyboard you can of course customize your regular brush as well, as they say in Chapter one, brush scaling.

mmmmm....

yo Vin, love your piccy there, it's very good! and no, sorry I don't know any other art sites but Kit might & I'll ask those who may know. My version of Paint is so old it's a slate board & chalks, hehe...maybe newer versions have more variations.
oooh, she knows ya know....I knew she would..

btw, Sweedie how dare you incinerate I made a mistake & lost my music, tut? it simply vanished I tell ye...whoosh, 'twas gone. (apparently it can happen, you've been warned, keep a back-up)
If anyone has any information as to it's whereabouts, there's a whole tray of cstrds up as a reward.

ROFLMAO at you, stick woman...
Question Author
He he he, I didn't incinerate nothing (the police are lying), I just wanted it to be your own fault 'cos that would be less frightening to me than the thought of it just happening. Did I mention I'm a control freak.
Thanks kip
you clever girl. oooh arggh..tiz a pirate ship tiz...yo ho ho hehe..! still prefer me Artpad.(:O)

Good morning...?

I've been trying to "reclaim my brain", as they say at this memory game page.

Found out I'm tone-deaf ...

... but I like the animated memory game

<Known facts:

1. I like Vinny's music
2. I'm tone-deaf

Conclusion ? ? ? ? ?

I thought it was...the purple face is a bit of a clue. Oh and I'm afraid I'm no longer stick-woman....I am officially normal ....ordinary...non-descript...invisible.

Evening All You all sound chirpy today. Kit I managed the music tone puzzle but couldn't be a***d with the super hard one. Where do you find all these puzzles from.

Been out to my Aunt and Uncles today for lunch with my sister. Had a lovely traditional home made shepherd's pie and then raspberry and apple pie and custard for pudding ~ lovely.
Got a busy weekend coming up. Going to my usual haunt tomorrow then on Sat. going to another pub to see my niece play in a group called Anominata. She plays the saxophone. They do a number of gigs a year just for charities. Then on Sun it's back to my local for a Country and Western gig. There weren't many there last Sun. so we're hoping for a few more this time. Going there with the Gman. Going to watch Gray's Anatomy at 10. Then the last part of Question Time. So it's Goodnight to you all for now :o) xx

It's just as well you're not stick woman anymore, Robinia, it's a dangerous life out on the catwalk: fallen women

So are you all getting ready for the ESC again? This year's winner here is none other than the miraculous Miss Nilsson I was telling you about who once upon a time caused the tabloids to quote her as saying "My breasts grew bigger on live television" (she was nursing and her baby boy was waiting backstage, remember). Only, her name is Perelli now, I forgot. Speaking of being on the thin side, Nilsson-Perelli had lost so much weight (deliberately) in such a short time leading up to the national ESC contests that a doctor of nutriology told the press she shouldn't be allowed to participate, 'cos if she lost another three lb. she'd be officially anorectic and thus a poor role model. Being overweight is just as bad for your health but I think he'd been massacred if he'd gone for a fatty... Anyway, then she went and won the whole thing. She's a good singer, but the song is boring

Jude what on earth do you mean you managed the sound memory - you don't mean a hundred percent correct? Do you? Do you??!

Lots of good luck for tomorrow Neti. Don't let him/her jump up and grab you!

morning lovelies, wherever you are...jogging? shopping? knitting?
nope shaney....that's not much of a disguise

oh heck Kit haha, the ones where they disappear over the edge of the stage are the best. I don't think I'll be any less clumsy now - the bruises will be bigger but there'll always be a stick on the inside

Morning - at 7am (your time) I was sitting the consultant's waiting room with 2 guardia civil police and a handcuffed prisoner ( oo er mrs!), so they took him in first. I have Hashimoto's disease which mean Underactive thyroid, can you believe it, now have medicine to make me more speedy - I'll never cope am whizzing around as it is. My autoimmune system is attacking my thyroid or something, I am making anti-bodies, or some such. should be sorted soon. Also have a stinking cold, so am off to bed. Loves yers!
Yes he's a bggr that old Hashimoto Neti ..he's the Japanese chap who discovered it . You'll be fine once the meds kick in . I can assure you will not be whizzing .The tablets will calm you down .I was OK too once they took the straightjacket off.
Actually I have been knitting Robinia .I have so much wool tucked away my sister in law has roped me in to knit squares for blankets for Romanian orphans . .Well....at least it keeps my fingers out of mischief ,uses up my stash and makes a change from socks .. I don't mind knitting them as long as someone else sews them together !
I have also made a birthday card and some sausage rolls since I was last here..
Dull and dismal here and we are in for another cold spell so they say.Hope you are all well otherwise ..toodlepip for now xx
Morning me lov.....
oi..! that was my intro...bu663r....
blimey..its all happening.the swedish nations tone deaf, and ibiza is being invaded by the japaneze...oooh...and the stick ladys Grooown..! still, look on the bright side netti......yer get the hoovering done quicker...hehe..!
cant chat the barmaid up from sunday....its against the law you know....and no calling them me lover...well thats us lot bu66ered round ere then....!!(:O)
oh lordy, is neti turning Japanese now? chin up mi duck, you'll be shuffling around with the rest of us (well, except for Jude) when the drugs start to work. Hope your cold gets better soon, is it the same one that constantly goes round & round the island or do us foreigners bring them over for you?

I know what you mean about sewing knitting shaney (ha! that's confuzzled 'em all) but I like to make a neat job so I used to end up with other people's to finish off for them :o( and you've just reminded me I've some puff pastry in the freezer...I don't think I'll be rolling it around any sausage tho....unless...

oh I say Vin....nice paintwork!
gotta find something to slow down these hyperactive biddies...

I'm still manipulating photos, takes ages... but I expect I'll be popping in from time to time. Stan from Bulgaria has just installed a shiny new computer for me as the old one kept getting the hiccups
hello all. I have been dealing with two dogs with the runs....no fun at all especially as the little dears aren't really ill (well that's a bonus of course) and are continuing to eat horse manure, newspaper and anything else handy.
I really had forgotten what puppies can be like. Anyway carted both off to vet today and created mayhem there. They have a low grade bacterial tummy bug and have both had antibi injections, one didn't notice and one yelled the house down. Vet didn't turn a hair bless her.
I can vouch for some of the less medical additions to notes, at least some years ago, I think (hope) that doctors are better behaved now. Never seen NFN but did once hear a consultant at a clinic dictate to his secretary (now those were the days, she sat in on the clinic, also two nurses, the consultant never stirred out of his chair unless he had to) "this stupid girl and her unpleasant mother....."
The gilr wasn't stupid, she was a tongue tied teenager and the mum didn't ;like the consultant's manner and let him know it. I have never forgotten that although it was 30+ years ago.
More recently, my Dh went to the GP for something unrelated and had a broad spectrum set of bloods done, he happened to look at the screen in the surgery which was turned towards him and saw the the doc had added "?cirrhosis, ?alcoholic " to his record and threatened him with legal action unless he deleted it!! I wonder what his record says now!! In case anyone is wondering that GP has since retired.
To balance that. I know many doctors of all grades and specialities who are normal nice people and do a fine job...you get pains in the fundament in any profession.
Got to go, the dogs have woken up and are killing each other....noisily in the garden!
