Allergies
Blood disorders of many kinds
Liver and kidney problems.
Psychiatric issues.
All need reassessing before injection of vaccine is given the go ahead.
Many more.....people having immune suppression or cancer treatment...all considered on a one to one assessment.

Bazile, I perfectly understand why you asked the question - forewarned can sometimes be forearmed.
But it did strike me that too much disclosure about this could result in us falling into the hands of the anti-vaxxers, who would maximise it on social media resulting in havoc to the vaccination programme. God knows there are enough people out there already who are doubtful about the vaccine for totally specious reasons without making it worse.
It's little wonder that vaccinnees are appropriately questioned before having the jab by the vaccinators on the spot in the vaccine centres rather than doing it any other way. As Sqad says, they are the best placed to decide.

Some people do react quite badly, Bazile. OH developed an all-body itchy and inflamed rash which has taken just over 2 months to clear-up using antibiotic + antihistamine tablets, a steroid cream (applied whole body twice daily) and an 'anti-itch' bucket of cooling moisturiser also twice a day, but with at least an hour between applications. I'v e been busy nursing! This was with the Pfizer.
A neighbour (district nurse) had the Oxford vacc. and was horribly ill for nearly 3 weeks with fever, sweats, terrible headaches etc.. Now fine.
Neither had pre-existing contra-indications.
On the other hand, I was fine apart from going to sleep for about 24 hours (Oxford) and everyone else I know who has been vaccinated (nearly everyone) didn't even have that.
I was told that there were known contra-indications - Sqad has mentioned them.
Better than getting Covid, however - but OH refuses to have the Pfizer again and neighbour refuses to have the Oxford again!

jourdain, I know your DH had a rare nasty reaction...didn't you say it was so rare that it was photographed?
Its possible that your neighbour actually did catch covid before the vaccination kicked in. I know via a friend of someone who had shielded, only went out to get the vac and caught covid. He caught it badly and is now in hospital.

a biochemist and street sweeper writes: there is only really one - anaphylaxis to a previous like vaccine - and the doctor will decide. No one has died from vacca remember
but read the doc ! - ument
The thing I want to know
so I will tack it here
Little Nursey or Doccy declines to have vacca from personal grounds - and gets Brazil variant ( traceable see?) and gives it to walk-ins or patients. Are the health care workers liable in law and before the GMC for the infections they have directly caused?- - - - (NMC)
And if a GP is in charge of a clinic where the staff have decided on personal grounds not to have vacca and it is fingered in an outbreak, are they and the practice liable ? Money flows from rich doctors to poor patients you will note.
I really dont feel people have thought out the consequences of "I am too allergic to be vaccinated, I was always a pale and sensitive child"

who said that
Christie ( oh god the famous cancer hospital in Manchester which has really soopa-doopa results ) has advised its patients of whom I am one, to get vaccinated and that advice not to would be .... rare. (I think it is mid cycle and on cyclophosphamide but as a street sweeper I cd well be wrong - it may well be tacrolinus) - and on the grounds that response wd be low
oh god we are heading for a round of
only the prof of biochemistry can tell us the troof !

I still dont see he got it at the clinic and not at the massage parlour he told no one about that he just decided to include in."
Yeah, I know its hearsay and but possible and knowing the person, although not her Dad, I believe it. I don't think it should put folk off going out for the jab either. Neither my Sis or I had to shield but we both have been blooming careful. Her NHS stream invitation came through and the venue was a very "hot" area of a "hot" city some way from where she lives she decided to think it over for a couple of days. In the event, her GP invite came through at a local community centre so she didn't have to make the decision.

PP that "no to vaccine" by an NHS staff member is difficult. the nearest analogy I can come up with is an NHS employee who refuses to do certain work because of their religious beliefs, eg abortion or family planning...from what I recall, (and it may have changed) they can't be sacked for refusing and if a job can be found for them that accommodates their beliefs then they must be offered that job but if there is no suitable job then they can be made redundant. What they can't do is undertake the job and use it to share their beliefs with patients or refuse to give patients the interventions that they are employed to give on religious or other grounds relating to their beliefs.
Also as I undertand it new staff can be required to have reasonable health interventions but for existing staff, it would require a change to T's and C's. I have no idea about the GP situation.

Had mine yesterday morning. Not sure why I got done so early to be honest because I’m 50 without any health issues, but I received a phone call last week to have it done, so why wouldn’t I?
Very impressed, I was in and out in about 2 minutes. Thus far no side effects (it was the Astra one) and even went out for dinner last night at a friends house (oops, no I didn’t - don’t tell Dibble).

I've refused the offer of a vaccine so far. If one consultant, or one medical article, could assure me 100% that it was safe for me to take, considering my medical history and current medications, then I would not hesitate. Unfortunately, after weeks of research on medical sites I have found no such reassurances other than -better to take it and the risk, that get Covid...that is not good enough for me. I've had Covid and survived and have no intention of getting vaccinated until someone can look me straight in the eye and say -yes we are 100% sure the vaccine is safe for persons with auto-immune conditions who are taking T-Cell blockers. I will not hold my breath and will continue to shield.

Lol from the person who claims to have a multitude of illnesses yet questions the credentials of anyone on ab with any medical knowledge and how bona fide they are.
No medicine or vaccine on earth can give such a guarantee because there will always be one or two who have a reaction.
Did you have the same mindset when prescribed all your other medicines and vaccines you have ever been given I wonder ?
