Pain in the bum... and leg!
50 Answers
I am in so much pain!
I was crouching down last night while feeding the rabbit and locking up the hutch and when I stood up I got a shooting pain run down my right leg from my right bum cheek.. Then it dissapeared and I walked to the kitchen and the pain kept coming back it felt like severe muscle cramp then I went to bed and was in agony I had to keep moving my leg into different positions.. but all night it kept waking me up! Now today it feels like a constant cramp in my right bum cheek and the back muscles of the right thigh.. It's not as bad as last night but it still hurts!
Does anyone have any idea as to what it could be?

I have never had a stomach ulcer so I should be ok! It's not my back, it's my leg that hurts... And just under my right bum cheek! I hate dealing with GP's and I know they will only give me pain killers, which I shall refuse. I just need some advice. Maybe a chiroprator would be the best person to go to..

A chiropractor does not just deal with backs, but the whole spine and physiological system. I go to mine for all different problems, and he is amazing at diagnosing things that the Doctors just can't. Everything is related. Your sciatica is a spinal problem even though it does not hurt in your back. Same as, people with neck problems sooner or later get back problems, as spine troubles tend to radiate.
Anyway- good luck! Let us know how you get on.x

Ruby a chiropractor might not be able to help you. If the pain starts in your bum its likely you have a bulging muscle from back strain near your scaroiliac joint. If the pain starts up your back then it will be a slipped disc, bulging disc or the like. The latter is proper sciatica but the former can definitely give you symptoms of it but with rest hot water bottles and using your back properly will get better very quickly.
The best thing you can do for sacroiliac joint dysfunction is some exercises to help free the nerve from your joint. Lying on your back and bringing your knees as close to your chest as possible. Basically you need to get to a doctor to find out whether you have true sciatica and he can refer you to a physio for joint dysfunction, which is more than likely what is causing it or take a different course if it is a disc problem.
Good luck Ruby but I really wouldnt waste your money on a chiropractor just yet,

Sorry Rubes I haven't read the other answers as when I see ruby and bum in the same thread, I get all excited.
However, the new way of treatment for most of these conditions is keep the inflicted area moving. Rest is the worse thing for you, so keep walking, stretching and generally exercising your bottom.
A forthcoming youtube link would be appreciated, as a medical tool of course.
