finding out sex of child in a scan

well my wife today has just found out that she is going to have a boy. I am actually really dissappointed and now not looking forward to it at all.

I just cant imagine having a son and never ever wanted one. my wife doesnt care either way. Is there anything I can do to overcome these feelings? I really just am flattened buy this

Is your wife happy with you Poltergeist? Do you treat her properly?

I'm also having a boy and quite pleased, as I prefer the simplicity of boys. However, had I been having a girl, I would have been satisfied. The main thing for me is that the baby emerges strong and healthy.

I think as a parent, you need to put selfish thoughts aside and concentrate on being a good parent, who will lover and nurture your child regardless of it's gender.

Why don't you find your daughter? You say dads can cuddle and kiss their daughters but if you haven't seen her for 7 years must be difficult

Poltergeist, do you hear yourself. You have a wife and a child on the way. Be happy. Many people wish for that and never get it if they cannot conceive. Be grateful you are one of the lucky ones who can have a child at all.

I suggest your show your wife love and support, share the times up to the birth with her - go to scans together and when you see your little baby on the scan I am sure you will change your mind when you see the life you have created.

Enjoy your son - don't be disappointed before he even gets here - wait till he gets into the terrible two's or teenage years - you will then have plenty to be disappointed about.

I had 2 daughters when I was very young then got pregnant again when my youngest was 16.
I have a lovely son and like you I was worried about having a boy.
He is amazing and I would never ever be without him now.
I am bringing him up on my own and he really keeps me going.

Surely when you write your posts, you are aware you are going to antagonise people here, it seems your main aim on AB is to be contraversial and sensational, kind of a way of getting attention?

I'm sure you realised your post would be met with hostility and disapproval, because it is so ridiculously callous. How many weeks pregnant is your wife? If she's still under 24 weeks, it's not too late to terminate, it seems that is what you would like and then you can keep on trying until she falls pregnant with a girl.
