Good Morning All,
Well like the temperatures outside my weight has been up and down lately. I'm sure it has to do with me being "lost."
Hope you are all getting near your goals.

Yes Jan been a bit confusing with the threads. Ed moved us and Xstitcher who started all this off last June got lost and could not find us but found her and all is ok now and we have got most of our regulars back so should be straight forward now.
Jan and Rowan it is so very easy to gain weight than lose it .Well do I know. I have struggled for years and more so since I stopped smoking 13 years ago. Please do not look at the long term and try to lose it too quick .Just set your self small gaols at a time and yes it will be slow but you can get there. Stay with us it can be done .Try and shop for the week so that you are not tempted to order that take a way meal. Write everything down dailly then it is easy to work your weeks plan out. Good luck.Just cut out the crap and the fat .Thats my motto.Onwards and Downwards

Hi Ric.ror welcome please don't try and lose 5 stone before Sept coming off to quick will go back on twice as fast.last June I gave myself a gaol of 2 stone from June to Oct and did it slowly I have not put back on apart from Xmas but got that few lbs off. I know I am stuck at the mo but I have now given myself a gaol of a stone before end of June.
Wendilla is so right......fast losses result in fast gains. You are choosing a new life style. Usually the first few kilos go quickly in the first few weeks (somebody said it is loosing water at that point ???) but just try and keep it going down and again as the wise Wendilla says give yourself small achievable goals and move the goal posts when you have reached them. Good luck to all our new weight loosers.
Thanks all for your welcome and support. I know this is going to be a long process and means a complete life change. Unfortunately with the non-mobility came the comfort eating and depression which led to too much alcohol as well. I am trying to cut that down to a couple of glasses of wine a day (instead of vast amounts of vodka) to start with before cutting it out completely. I am going to set myself small goals and as it is my wedding anniversary on 20th July I am aiming to lose a stone and half by then, although secretly hoping for more. Good luck to everyone else and it's nice to know you're all here should I need the occasionally kick up the backside.
I am just joining you here, although being on AB for a long time. I have about 5 stones to lose. I started seriously to rethink the way I was eating back in March and am using my old WW stuff from a previous try at losing weight. This time it feels different. I am making big changes to my diet, but it doesn't feel like I am dieting, so far I have lost a total of 13 and a quarter pounds. I will make a separate thread with some tips that I have found helped, maybe others could add their own as well so that we can all try them if we want and see if they work for us.
can i join your club,i have about 7 stone to lose,i go to ww and lost 2.5stone but put some back on,its just that i cant excercise,i am being more careful with my diet though and find it helps when i write everything in my diary/eating plan.i am going to start planning my meals on a weekly basis and only doing one shop a week
Morning Jules and Slinky kate and welcome. Yes Kate this is what I always stress write everything done and do your shop for the week .Jules put some of your ideas on this thread and share as this may help others . The same diet that one is doing may not work for others. I swear by unsweetened grapejuice every morning but some people on medication can not take this.
Glad to hear from you again notafish. I must thank Wendilla for getting back in the fold and didn't know I started a new thread. Anyway hope everything is tickety boo now and we can all get on with our killing off the bad habits and loosing the weight ounce by ounce.....slowly slowly catch the monkey..........onwards and downwards !!!
